Summary

Sometimes work can be murder.

Detective Sergeant Kiara Lui has just broken up a loud brawl between two blokes in front of the Warrigal Public Library. But just as she's about to leave the scene, a man plummets from the sky and slams into the bike rack right in front of her, dead.

Head of Library Services, Neville Adams, was hated by staff, borrowers, and in fact anybody who had ever met him. What might have tipped that hatred into outright murder? The building is quickly sealed, trapping all the suspects inside. Someone should be in custody within minutes.

Instead, the investigation spirals outward, ensnaring half the town, and possibly connecting to a missing-persons a case that has yet to be solved, and which has had the whole town talking. If Neville’s killer isn't found fast, their first victim may not be the last . . .

A darkly-funny, propulsive thriller from the bestselling author of Kill Your Husbands.

I loved the different perceptive and the Aussie lens that was cast on all of the story. It was a great mystery that wasn’t spooky which was perfect for me. Great humour!

Nothing to dislike interesting believable, procedural with heart and humour. There is a 15 word minimum which is very annoying. Sometimes you just want to thank someone.

Entertaining

I loved this book. The characters were funny, I loved Ben most of all. The ending I wasn’t super enthralled with, yet the rest of the book sure had me. Thankyou jack heath.

If suspense and twists could kill, Jack heath would have murdered me ten times over. A brilliant read

The story is OK but somehow not great. The reference to slipping on ice in a fictional New South Wales town, stated to be not south of Sydney, seemed inauthentic. The pronunciation of "vase" as "vayz" rather than "varz" was an example of inauthentic pronunciation. Disappointing.

Lack of authenticity spoiled it.
