About this listen

WINTER

Sending him to prison was the worst thing I could've done. It didn't matter that he did the crime or that I wished he was dead. Perhaps I thought I'd have time to disappear before he got out or he'd cool off in jail and be anything but the horror he was. But I was wrong. Three years came and went too fast, and now he's anything but calm. Prison only gave him time to plan. And while I anticipated his vengeance, I didn't expect this. He doesn't want to make me hurt. He wants to make everything hurt.

DAMON

First thing's first. Get rid of her daddy. He told them I forced her. He told them his little girl was a victim, but I was a kid, too, and she wanted it just as much as I did.

Step two.... Give her, her sister, and her mother nowhere to run and no fuel to escape. The Ashby women are alone now and desperate for a knight in shining armor. But that's not what's coming. No, it's time I listened to my father and took control of my future. It's time I showed them all - my family, her family, my friends - that I will never change and that I have no other ambition than to be the nightmare of their lives.

This is one of those books you just can’t stop thinking about throughout the day. I knew that Damons character arc was always going to be the most interesting and I was not disappointed. Beautiful story telling from Penelope, she weaves her magic so well. So many heart wrenching and emotional moments, I could not stop listening. The narrators are brilliant and Jeremy Yorks work here is *chefs kiss* he really brought Damon’s character to life.

I enjoyed the first book, the second was a struggle but worth it in the end. You definitely need to read the first two before this to really understand everything that’s going on. The spice is worth the wait, that scene with Damon and Will had me sweating.

Already onto the next book!

Amazing

Who knew after book one and two I could end up loving Daman? This was my favourite listen in the series (so far).

Imagine me not crying for six hours straight while I read this. Ugh. My eyeballs. They HURT.

I didn’t care much about this series, to be honest. Through the first and second book I was always more invested in Damon and Will and I know everyone said that this one is the best in the series, and I wanted to only read this one but I felt like I needed to read the first two to have a proper understanding, and I’m really glad I did. While they weren’t my favourite and I don’t care much for the world, I don’t think I would have loved this one as much if I didn’t have all that history from the other two.

This was emotionally draining and hard to read. It was exhausting to read because it broke my damn heart. Damon has issues, he’s always been fucked up and while his history isn’t an excuse for his behaviour, it’s a reason, and it’s a damn sad one. I just want to hug him. Even in the first book, I knew something was seriously wrong. In this one the entire time I just cried for him and I wanted to HUG him. He deserves so much love. Yeah, he’s done some fucked up shit, but I don’t care. His character development over the three novels has been incredible and the same goes for all of the characters, actually. Rika is such a bad bitch now.

So far, I haven’t been a fan of any of the heroines in this series. I mean they’re okay and there’s nothing wrong with them but sometimes they’re just dumb. I liked Winter to an extent. Her reasons for hating Damon were a bit wishy washy, I don’t understand why it took so long for her to remember exactly what happened in the treehouse. I liked that she made Damon soft and I love how her loved her. Honestly, I just wanted him to be happy. Sigh. I’m just so soft for him.

I still feel like there’s a lot about Damon and Will that I don’t know, which is why I’m desperate to read the next book when it comes out. This review is all over the place sorry LMAO, I don’t even know why I’m giving it five stars I just know I liked it, I liked the stolen moments between Damon and Winter, I like how he let his guard down. I loved the way these characters have been developed and written. Penelope Douglas is such a bad bitch. Plus, there was another threesome scene and while nothing will ever top the one between Kai Michael and Rika, this one was just as drool worthy. Yes pleassseeee.
