Anna Sparres porträtt av Karin Månsdotter skildrar en stark, klok och medveten kvinna som lyckas hålla sig undan Eric XIV:s galenskaper. Anna Sparre föddes år 1906 och dog år 1993. Hon var en svensk författare som debuterade år 1943 med "N:o 14 Sparv anmäler sig". Främst skrev hon historiska och självbiografiska romaner. Hennes sista bok "Drottningens förtrogna" gavs ut året efter hennes död.
