Not as good as the others in the series

I absolutely loved Little women, Good Wives and Little Men and consider them timeless classics. However I don’t find Jo’s Boys of the same calibre, and rather than being a feel good story like the others, it is in fact rather tragic. Particularly the ending wasn’t very happy and i felt it reflected the age of the book and a time of depression.
