Publisher's Summary

He was broken by the war. Her secret could destroy her family.

Ex-marine sniper Jared River left the war, but the war never really left him. He's a broken wolf who's good for only one thing now - killing men. And he's peering down his scope at Senator Krepky, the antishifter politician about to ruin the lives of all the shifters Jared loves.

Grace Krepky is the daughter of the senator, a good girl with a passion for her father's politics and who's earned her way into being his campaign manager. Only problem? She's secretly a shifter...and the clock is ticking until her own father inadvertently forces that secret into the open, ruining both their lives.

Jared's all set to pull the trigger when he sees something shocking through the senator's glass walls: His daughter is a wolf. Jared puts his gun aside to go after the fleeing girl, but he already knows this can end in only one of two ways - either he'll convince her to reveal herself to the senator and stop his antishifter legislation, or Jared will have to assassinate her father.

If only she wasn't making him come alive again....

Jared is a complete novel with HEA, the third in the River Pack Wolves trilogy (all stand-alone stories but best enjoyed if you listen to them in order!).

Contains scorching-hot shifters, alpha military heroes, and dark family secrets. Only listeners over 18 should dive into the deliciously hot world of the River brothers.

After the River brothers, check out the Wilding Pack Wolves series!

Emotional Love Stories

The whole 3 books of this series The River Wolves Brothers are emotional and spell binding.
I am looking forward to reading the next series of books by Alisa Woods.

The least of my favourites

Jared has been portrayed a almost irrevocably broken but the lack of depth, unlike the previous 2, is harder to accept. The male narrators voice didn't really mesh with previous descriptions of Jared. good story line with an open end but weaker than the 1st 2

Great series. 1 great, 1 horrible narrator.

Brian, the male narrator... I cringed every time he read. Sounded like one of my brothers picking fun of a chick flick. The female narrator, Morais, was great. That said, I did enjoy they series, and was sappy, happy Jared found his hea.

Great story, horrible narrator.

I really really really can’t stand the male narrator’s voice. It sounds like he is trying to sound like what he thinks a male in a romance novel sounds like… There is no other way to describe it. He sounds all breathy and cheesy and fake… it’s cringe worthy. Like just talk normal… it’s just weird… And I can’t get past it. I keep turning it off taking a break and then going back to it… I’ve had to skip over the love scenes because they are just weird (unless it’s the female narrator… she does an awesome job). I have to force myself to finish it since I have listened to the other two books in the series... and I want to know how it ends... but it's hard to get past it... I'm considering just buying the book and reading it.

River Pack Wolves Book Three

River Pack Wolves Book Three

Grace Krepky is surprised to find another wolf in the woods behind her home and terrified that he will reveal her secret. As the daughter and campaign manager of an anti-shifter politician, the fact that she is a shifter could be disastrous. Jared has no intention of outing the beautiful white wolf. In fact, she kept him from killing her father. Now, Jared must pose as a bodyguard for Grace to insure that her father's anti-shifter policies never see the light of day. When an old enemy shows up in Grace's father's office, though, Jared cannot contain himself. His wolf comes out and Grace's life is placed in imminent danger.

Audio Review:
Brian Hatch and Morais Almeida could be great narrators for a different genre. Unfortunately, Brian's narration is a bit overdramatic with a lot of pauses between words. Overall, the narration was not bad, just a little too over-the-top.

If you're looking for a political thriller with some paranormal themes, this is the book for you!

OMG - Terrible Story

Why even make a story about a strong dominant male shifter to have him panic and do stupid stuff during action sequences? Why pause in the middle of a rescue to have a long drawn out reunion talk? Why is the heroine so freaking stupid? Why did I waste my time reading this mess? SMH!!

Question

I realize that PNR readers are usually the younger generation but does that necessitate a narrator that sounds like a teenager?? This happens a lot now--not sure why women like that squeaky, childish voice. Hard to sound like a grown woman, much less a grown man. The heroine in this story is supposed to be 25 yrs old but the narrator sounds so much younger. She's good but should stick to younger genres---a 12 yr old reading a sex scene doesn't get it for most people. Male narrator was okay. This is the 3rd book in the series -- good story, easy listen, some angst but not bad. Worth a credit if you like shifter romance, HEA.

This Narrator is the absolute WORSE.

They should re-record this book because this guy is the worse, overdramatized, horrible pitch. Way too much. You know it had to be bad because I don't usually review books. But I wanted to save someone else's time.

Read all 3!

I was worried that I would not like the the match at first. But she started off to soft but she was more firm gentle hand, not a soft weak one. Very happy I read them. Left opening for more books. Hope there will be one more!

Good Story

The last book was good except for the female narrator. I almost stopped listening and gave up on the series. I'm glad I didn't. This book is worth every minute.

A grand, emotional performance!

Both of the performers have truly performed this book like they are onstage! Emotions that match their words and talented voice changes for different characters brings the gripping plot to life. A different twist in shifter themes that adds political activism and coming out.

Wow!

Would you listen to Jared again? Why?

Yes because I loved the story, and especially the performance by Brian he puts so much feeling into it

What other book might you compare Jared to, and why?

Jaxson and Jace in the same series RIver Wolves they are all such strong damaged characters who just want what is best for their family and pack.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, most definiately

Any additional comments?

I have really enjoyed all three books in this series, Alisa is a really talented author.
