Wow, I absolutely devoured Ara and Luca’s story. This was such a dark, thrilling, plot-driven read, packed with high stakes tension and a mystery that has been haunting Ara for a very long time.

Starting with the plot it was brilliant. I was completely invested in what was going to happen. The story reveals just enough along the way to keep you hooked right until the end. I loved the stalker x stalker dynamic, the tension between them was incredibly entertaining. Their back and forth jabs and teasing only elevated the intensity of their connection as it developed.

Arabella is a beautiful, strong, and fierce woman determined to uncover the truth, all while blending into high society to disguise her true mission. I loved how fiery she was with Luca, her reactions just pushed all his buttons. Luca, on the other hand, is intense, intimidating, and thrives on control. The way he commands her, both in and out of the bedroom, had me screaming. His jealousy when she disobeyed him or spent time with other men due to an arranged situation her father was setting up had me so unwell.

There are plenty of spicy scenes, and they lean into a delicious dom sub dynamic rough, intense, and utterly addictive. I’m also really hoping Lily and Lorenzo get their own book in this series because I’m obsessed with the bodyguard and shy blushing friend.

Lastly, I did immersive reading, and the audiobook was fantastic. I haven’t listened to much from Chloe and Brandon before, but they did an amazing job bringing this story to life. It made the entire experience fantastic and I highly recommend picking it up in audio.

This is my first Kia Carrington-Russell book, and it definitely won’t be my last. I’m really looking forward to continuing this series when I can.

Yes yes yes! I love the old switch-a-roo when it comes to the traditional ‘stalker romance’.

Ara is set on revenge after her mother’s death (and her near death) when she was a young girl, and her focus is on finding the man responsible.

This puts her in the path Luca Armani, who also happens to be the head of the Mafia.

I enjoyed this so much, the hate, the heat, the twists, all of it!

Devoured this in one sitting. If you love Dark Mafia that isn’t the same old thing, then I highly recommend checking this out!

The plot twist was a little foreseeable. The author did a great job of writing spicy scenes. I didn’t get a yearning or a real moment of clarity as to when they stopped “hating” (didn’t really give hate vibes more just stated once or twice that they didn’t like each other) the other. The spicy scenes were a little lack lustre but still interesting. I wasn’t excited as I’d hoped to be about the “uno reverse” trope (she stalked him but he stalked her back, but better). There was so much potential here. I felt like this was light dark (grey) romance. Easy listen. Good vibes.
