Story
I've been in this life for 50 years, been trying to work out its riddle for 42, and been keeping diaries of clues to that riddle for the last 35. Notes about successes and failures, joys and sorrows, things that made me marvel and things that made me laugh out loud. How to be fair. How to have less stress. How to have fun. How to hurt people less. How to get hurt less. How to be a good man. How to have meaning in life. How to be more me.

Story
It took me a lifetime to have the courage and the clarity to write my memoir. I want to tell the story of the moments - the ups and downs, the triumphs and traumas, the debacles and the dreams - that contributed to the person I am today. This book is composed of my memories, my mishaps, my struggles, my survival, and my songs. Unfiltered. I went deep into my childhood and gave the scared little girl inside of me a big voice. I let the abandoned and ambitious adolescent have her say, and the betrayed and triumphant woman I became tell her side.

Meet Sunshine. That's her stage name. Follow her to the private rooms where the lap dances happen, the hustle plays out and the real money flows. Sit with her in the back room with the other dancers, her friends and colleagues, who laugh and cry and rake in the dollars and party as though a zombie apocalypse is on the horizon.
Publisher's Summary
A New York Times Best seller.
A Daily Mail Book of the Year.
A Mail on Sunday Book of the Year.
For decades, Demi Moore has been synonymous with celebrity. From iconic film roles to high-profile relationships, Moore has never been far from the spotlight - or the headlines.
Even as Demi was becoming the highest paid actress in Hollywood, however, she was always outrunning her past, just one step ahead of the doubts and insecurities that defined her childhood.
Throughout her rise to fame and during some of the most pivotal moments of her life, Demi battled addiction, body image issues, and childhood trauma that would follow her for years - all while juggling a skyrocketing career and at times negative public perception.
As her success grew, Demi found herself questioning if she belonged in Hollywood, if she was a good mother, a good actress - and, always, if she was simply good enough.
As much as her story is about adversity, it is also about tremendous resilience. In this deeply candid and reflective memoir, Demi pulls back the curtain and opens up about her career and personal life - laying bare her tumultuous relationship with her mother, her marriages, her struggles balancing stardom with raising a family, and her journey toward openheartedness.
Inside Out is a story of survival, success and surrender - a wrenchingly honest portrayal of one woman’s at once ordinary and iconic life.

Brutally Demi
After the negative publicity indicating that Demi would expose the people responsible for her battles, I thought twice about listening. But, I saw this in the same week that St Elmo’s celebrated its 35th anniversary, so I saw this as a sign to give this book a chance. I’ve always been a huge fan of Demi, the Demi that the media portrayed. This Demi is deep. She surprisingly shares the same insecurities as every woman I know. She’s also had it a lot harder than most people. There is no blame laid on Ashton or Bruce, or even her parents. She takes responsibility and is accountable for her actions. This is not what the media portrayed, but neither is Demi. There are lessons and messages here for everyone and that makes this megastar very relatable. I wish Demi all the very best for her future endeavours and thank her for her honesty. Highly recommended to all.

Demi was a picture of success. Listening to her story you realise that behind the scenes she was struggling with the same real issues as the rest of the real world. I especially loved the learnings wrapped in her experiences. Her narration made it all the more real, raw, honest and awfully relatable. It was compelling. I could not stop listening. The best book I’ve listened to all year!
Demi Moore’s life has been so diverse, filled with extreme lows and incredible highs. But it’s the in- betweens that make this autobiography. The parts of her ‘normal’ life we don’t generally hear about are just as interesting if not more. I learnt a lot about her family life and her reasons for taking various projects that I found fascinating. Demi is intelligent, funny and loving. It comes across in spades. Her narration is 100% perfect, I never rate books as 10/10 but this time I am. I think if you enjoy Hollywood type stories you’d love it- but even if you don’t. It’s funny, interesting an so good I listened to the whole book in one sleep deprived night. Enjoy!

Blessings and growth come in all shapes and sizes.
Demi’s life was a roller coaster practically from birth. Starting with the quicksand that were her parents, she repeatedly struggled with her inner and outer critics. Over her lifetime she fought tenaciously to survive, before she understood what it took to thrive. Using pain & confusion as her compass, she eventually marched strongly towards self-understandably, hard won self-esteem, self-empowerment and inner peace - a hero’s journey!!

Intriguing yet
Demi is expressing herself well however seems to be living in the pain of her past rather than living in the present moment. She likes to dwell on her “but this happened to me” specially in last chapters. Demi mentions AA however I feel she has stepped away from doing the program as it’s intended and is back “in her cups”. There is hope that Demi can leave past behind and enjoy her many millions.
