I Can't - Couldn't Make it Past the

I couldn't make it past the first few sentences. The female performer's inflections were so damn annoying, I had to immediately remove the book from my library (and I've made it thru an Ann Flosnik's performance). I just can't.... Also, whomever was/is in charge of publishing/marketing/producing/rating did not do a very good job. There's no mention or indication if the book is for mature audience, is my teen able to listen/read, does it have erotic content, Christian, vulgar language, etc. what???? I even went onto other websites (Amazon, Goodreads, etc.) and there is still no mention of the nature of content other than the genre. No advisor....

A decent story if you get past the narrator

The narrator had two settings with her speech pattern: sarcasm or sighing. There was various lines she delivered in a way that made this story confusing at times. I couldn't settle down and read this on my own so I pressed onward with this audio. The story itself was good. The hero, Avery, and heroine, Macy, ended up going through a money trail caper in order to try to save Macy's job. I found it weird how Macy didn't bother to expose the courier as the incompetent business that it was the moment she discovered it, but I guess it would have ended the book too soon. And while I understood that it was necessary for there to be a tiff between Macy and Avery to make the story interesting, I was annoyed that the author went with the "opposite class" trope. Avery made it clear that her lack of finances wasn't a problem and she didn't seem to be that embarrassed by it around him since she always felt that she had more important things to worry about. Avery also didnt seem to be tied in any way to his disapproving father and didn't care about how he felt about him dating Macy. Their split was forced and silly. Maybe had Avery's father made more of a presence and had a stake in Avery's business, Macy would have more of a reason to break it off with Avery. Anyway, the book was enjoyable and the ending was satisfying. I would recommend reading it instead of using this audio.

GREAT READ!

I really enjoyed it! The narration was great and kept me entertained! The author did a great job with the character builds and plot! This was my first book by this author but definitely not my last! I look forward to reading more books from this author! I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
