Publisher's Summary

Almost one year ago, a Mage attacked Silver and changed the course of her destiny. Immortals exist, and now she is one of them. Within the dark and supernatural city of Cognito, Silver is living under the watchful eye of her Ghuardian and dating her mortal enemy. Neither man can protect her from a dark secret, one buried within the contents of a box. As rival factions struggle to gain control, she finds herself in the middle of a centuries-old feud that threatens to drive a wedge between her and Logan Cross, the man who intends to seduce her. In an explosive turn of events, one life is saved and another is forever altered. Can Silver trust those around her, or are they hiding a dark secret of their own?

Impulse

I have found this series absolutely captivating and funny. For many audiobooks I can draw or do other activities that require concentration while listening but this book series I have found captivates my mind so thoroughly I cannot do anything else substantial. I have watched very little video or movies since I started this series as it so vividly captures my imagination. I highly recommend it.

Silver is stupid & annoying

I liked the action and story line, but Silver got on my last nerves. She is always saying and doing things that are ass backwards requiring others to put their lives in danger rescuing her dumb ass. Just listening how she navigates her relationships is difficult to swallow and makes women look bad. She is physically ineffective as a supernatural character and should not be put in the same category as other strong women. I hope she stops saying and doing dumb shit in the next book. I have never wanted to tell a character in a book to shut the hell up as much as did listening to her reasoning. Lastly I want her to get a set of balls and date Logan ( shit or get off the pot). How many times does he have to rescue her to prove he is willing to die for her. Truly she is not worth the chase. I hope to see some growth in common damn sense when it comes to her safety and relationships.

Disappointing

I'm starting to get really tired of this chick. How many times does she have to almost get dead because she doesn't do what she's told before she starts behaving intelligently? A personal peeve. If you got attacked last time you wandered into the night alone, then perhaps you should consider staying in at night!! Haven't decided whether to continue the series about which I formerly held great hopes.

Impulse is another fantastic read!

Impulse is another fantastic read!  This third book in this series is apply named IMPULSE.  In this book we get to see more about Silver and her birth, childhood and the reasons she tends to not do what her impulses tell her to do sometimes.  There is a lot of action in this book when it comes to some fights and with the romantic relationship between Logan and Silver. This book also reveals more about Justus and his background which helps us see why he treats Silver the way he does and why he only has sexual interludes with women.  Of course it was great to read more about other characters like Simon, Adam & Finn.  I also enjoy some new characters like Christian and Leo. Moving on to book four of this series right away.  Must say again that Nicole Poole did a great job in narrating this audio book.

Main Character Never Evolves

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

No. If the main character grew with the story and evolution of the books, these books would be pretty good. The narration is good and the story line interesting. But the author insists on using the weakness and stupidity of the main character as the mechanism to forward plot. This is a shame because the books have many other good qualities.

Great.

Love the work of the author in General except for the constant ridiculous outbursts of childish behavior from the protagonists that in some cases lingers for too long and makes me wish I have an unlimited supply of Tums.

It's a struggle

I struggled to get through these books. She has some really well written characters that I love and that's why I kept listening. However the main character is weakin and I do not like Logan at all. I will keep with it but her other series is better by far.

Wonderful series for the urban fantasy fan

This series just gets better, with a great cast of characters Nicole Poole brings to life. Silver finds out about her origin, who her family really is, and starts to trust again. This is an ongoing struggle as her new family widens in this installment. Nero is still a threat, Adam faces new obstacles, Silver gets a new opportunity with bodyguard included, prejudices become apparent when Logan and Silver try for a relationship, and Justice faces off with an old nemesis. A good series for sure.

WOW

I wish she wasn't with Logan. I don't know why but I don't trust or like Logan. Why can't she be with Justice. (Guardian) It is still a very good book!

A great series without being too overtly sexual.

A great series that you can imagine yourself participating in without being overtly sexual. Very creative on how we view monsters amoung us.

Disappointing after the rest of the series

I’ve enjoyed the series so far, so would recommend the earlier books. This one feels laboured and I’ve actually stopped without finishing it. The interesting new character Finn doesn’t get enough attention and the romance between Silver and Logan feels flat and dragging on without humour or fun. All a bit dull this time. Sorry! I hate writing poor reviews, but it’s not as good as the previous ones (in my opinion).

Action packed heroics and romance

Any additional comments?

Silver is coming to terms with being a mage and with the abilities that go with it. With Adam struggling to accept himself and Logan’s Gathering to deal with she isn’t prepared for the Chitah who seems intent on making her his, with or without her permission.

This series is becoming very addictive and there are several reasons for that. The characters are complex and exciting; the reader can easily become emotionally invested in them. The town of Cognito is full of intrigue and the world of paranormal creatures that Dark has created to fill the town has enough interest to keep the readers hooked.

In this story, we get to know Christian who is an ancient vampire with a comeback for any conversation but we also find out how Justice became who he is and as Silver’s guardian it’s an emotional experience.
