Publisher's Summary

Kim Loraine’s Ignite is a steamy, forbidden, age-gap contemporary romance in the Ryker Ranch world featuring Ryker cousin Travis Ryker.

She‘s everything I swore to stay away from. But I was never good at resisting temptation.

When I picked up my life and moved to California, I left my hometown, my past, and my heart back in Sunrise, Montana. I never wanted to look back. Didn’t want to look forward either. All I needed was the job to keep me going. Until Lark sparked something inside me.

But she’s nearly half my age, and I’m too much for her. Too broken. Too selfish to give her what she deserves.

Even though I know it’s wrong to want her, I can’t resist.

Every time we come together, our world catches fire.

It only takes one touch for us to ignite.

Sexy cowboy firefighter awesomeness!

Full disclosure - I’ve been waiting for this one for a long time. This Ryker spinoff has all of the ingredients for amazing! A sexy cowboy who is a firefighter and a Ryker, narrated in DUET by Jason Clarke with Stella Hunter - SOLD! We had a glimpse of Travis and his rocky marriage in the Ryker Series that barely scratched the surface. Divorce is never easy, but the tumultuous relationship glimpses from other books turned into a traumatizing divorce for him. #GinaSucks He is reeling and trying to rebuild himself with a new start in a new place. Lark is such a complex character. Her sense of humor and sassy personality shine through from the first chapter. She shows her strength every day as she fights to regain her independence and challenge herself following a traumatic experience in her past. She is very mature for her age. I was caught up in both characters from the beginning. They just fit together and connect in that way that everyone longs for. You just know it! This book is so hot you will need a fire extinguisher close by - be warned!

Jason and Stella work very well in duet to bring this story to life in a way you just don’t get outside of duet. From the subtle giggles They blend together seamlessly in every scene, from the sassy dialogue to the scenes so hot you will be glad Travis is a firefighter! Yowza! I have listened through multiple times now, and it will do so again! I wholeheartedly and enthusiastically recommend this book!

I received an #AdvancedListenerCopy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Cowboys and firefighers!

I finally popped my Kim Loraine cherry! So glad I did. Cowboys and firefighters? Yes, please!

Travis is a cowboy turned firefighter. After a bad breakup, he decides to up and move to get away from bad memories. He starts working at a new firestation, and really likes his fellow fighters. When an accident puts Travis and Lark in the same place, there's an almost immediate attraction. They try to fight it for a while...until they can't. When circumstances threaten their budding relationship, they must decide what's really important to them.

Travis and Lark's chemistry is off the charts. I loved how their story unfolded

Jason Clarke and Stella Hunter did a wonderful job narrating this great story.

Sexy and emotional age-gap romance

Ignite by Kim Loraine is an age-gap romance in the Everyday Heroes World. I discovered Kim Loraine with her Ryker Ranch series, which I absolutely love. This story bridges the two worlds as the hero here is a cousin of the Rykers.

Ignite centers on the sizzling connection between Travis, a sexy as sin firefighter/cowboy and Lark, a much younger, college-aged woman, who are instantly drawn to each other. Both Travis and Lark are wounded characters who eventually find strength and comfort in each other. Travis was burned badly by his ex-wife and Lark has had a traumatic incident in her past that she's been struggling to recover from.

The duet style narration of this story is perfect for showcasing the chemistry these two have for each other. Jason Clarke is perfectly cast and absolutely smolders as Travis. Stella Hunter does a wonderful job bringing all the dimensions of Lark’s character to life, showing both her fierce independence, and the vulnerability that her past has left her with.

The attraction between these two is off the charts. Even though there is a fairly large age difference, these two characters have so many layers that it’s easy to see why they develop such a deep connection so quickly. The very real world issues that they both are facing help elevate the story from your traditional age-gap trope to a much more compelling and nuanced romance.

It was the best kind of narration, duet style. Stella is a favorite of mine but Jason Clarke.....my gawd they dont come any better than him. His voice is sexy AF!!! I cant stop listening to him he's that good! Love the author and all of her books. I loved how she wrote the two MC. Both good people and much love between the two. Definitely worth the money/credit.

No tension or build up

I love a good age gap romance. The eroticism is in the tension, the trying to deny and avoid, the taboo, the build up. There’s none of that here. They decide they want to have sex at the first meeting. Can you picture a big exciting balloon deflating rapidly?

They could be the same age and still have tension over the dad being the H’s boss, so there’s no point in the age gap. If that’s the trope you’re hoping for, you’ll be disappointed. However, if you’re just looking for a steamy story that doesn’t make you cringe over awful writing (as so many do), this will do.

Narrators are fantastic, as always.

5 alarm romance!!!

5 alarm hotness level on the listening scale!!!
Travis and Lark IGNITE together in this book almost instantly.

I love that two of my favorite book worlds came together to create this book.

Jason as a growly, sexy as sin firefighter? Yes, please!!!
He can call me sweetness ANYTIME!

Jason, as Travis is a cousin of the Ryker brothers and also a firefighter in K. Bromberg's Everyday Heroes world.
Stella, as Lark, is also connected to the EH world which you find out about in the book.

Kim wrote a devilishly delicious romance and it may be one of her hottest I've read so far.

Sweet Novella!

Travis and Lark's story is sweet and sexy. This novella is set in the Everyday Heroes World and in the Ryker Ranch Series World. Travis, a sexy cowboy/firefighter, is handsome, caring, and protective. Lark is a strong survivor, lovely, and determined. The storyline is fast-paced and easy to read. Impossible to put it down. I read it before, and the audiobook version beautifully brings this sweet story to life. Jason Clarke, Stella Hunter did a fantastic job with the duet narration, with a special appearance by Aaron Shedlock. I enjoyed it. I love Kim Loraine's writing. She never disappoints.

Ignite

Ignite is one of books in The Everyday Heroes World Series. This audio book is told in duet narration from Lark and Travis. I really enjoy duet narration, so that made the book more fun! This is an age gap romance.

Lark and Travis meet when Travis accidently clips the bike she is riding. He takes her to the hospital and stays with her. They start to have feelings for each other.

When he's at the fire station, she shows up, and it turns out his captain is her dad. So they hide their relationship from him. Both Travis and Lark are going through something. Lark had a traumatic past, and has trouble being in big crowds. Travis is going through a divorce, and his ex wife won't leave him alone.

As the book continues their feelings for each other grow. However Lark isn't sure if Travis is fully over his ex wife. What happens when the ex wife shows back up. What happens when one of their lives gets put in danger? What happens when her father finds out about their relationship?

I really enjoyed this book, and am excited to go read more about the other members of Travis's family.

Ohhhhh, the heat!!

You might think Kim Loraine titled this Ignite due to there being a fireman in the story. You’d be wrong. It’d be all about this scorching hot, insane chemistry that is set to ignite at any point. Lark and Travis can’t fight their attraction. But really, Lark didn’t stand a chance when you come across a cowboy on a horse AND the same man is a fireman. I don’t think any woman could take that combination especially when Travis is so darn irresistible. It’s more than just heat and complete sexiness (which is totally is and has) but it’s more than that. There’s some serious topics in these hours. Lark deals with PTSD. She struggles and seeing her find herself and the bravery she truly shows is inspirational.

The narrators Jason Clarke and Stella Hunter were fabulous. Can I just take a moment and tell you all how much of a pleasure it was to hear Clark give us some darlins’... Lord, I can’t even express this. It’s just how you’d think and want it to be. Clarke was a fantastic Travis. He was respectable and sweet while still being that older man and complete heart throb. Stella Hunter was just how I envisioned Lark. Hunter is able to do Lark justice…. She was slightly skittish and extremely vulnerable. She slowly found herself over time. Hunter hit the narration out of the park!

Ignite

I listened to the audiobook version of this book. Narration by Jason Clarke and Stella Hunter with a cameo by Aaron Shedlock. This was a stand-alone and I had no prior knowledge of any of the characters and loved it, but others have mentioned other books about the Ryker Ranch.

This is wonderful all on its own but I now need to hear more about the other books . I was completely taken with Lark and Travis. I loved seeing how their relationship began and how it evolved throughout the book. These two were so meant for one another and I really didn’t see their age difference as a stumbling block. It was special right from the get go. And Lark’s relationship with her dad was heart warming.

Loved the horses. Loved that it involved a group of firefighters who adore Lark. Loved how two broken souls mend themselves when they realize that they want what’s best for one another.

Jason is amazing as Travis, he shows such emotion and strength. Travis was broken before he literally ran into Lark at the beginning of the book. Jason’s performance was perfection as a protective cowboy and a firefighter. Wowza what girl could resist all of that.

Stella’s performance as Lark was also heartfelt and emotional, even the cameos from Aaron were awesome. Kim really knows how to choose narrators who encapsulate the emotions and the characterization of her characters so much that I couldn’t put this book down. The narration really pulled me in, in a wonderfully emotional way.

Thank you Kim for the wonderful book and thank you Jason, Stella and Aaron for entertaining me fully. I definitely will listen to this book again and again in the future.

Oh my what a story

From the very first chapter I was hooked!
Lark had been through a lot but still had so much strength… She was fighting her demons one day at a time. Travis had found his world turned upside down and left everything behind in Montana… including his heart… Until Lark…

Oh… And that moment. Of recognition for Travis in his place of work… My heart sank! (You'll know when you get to it)

I’m so glad there wasn’t too much angst in this story as it just wouldn’t have worked for these truly sweet and respectful characters. This is a perfect age gap story!

What a performance! Both Jason Clarke and Stella Hunter perform their hearts out, leaving you feeling part of the story!

Oh, Travis!!

Ah, Kim Loraine writing a cowboy/firefighter. How much better can it get? Travis Ryker has left the Ryker Ranch to start his new life. Recently divorced from a cheating wife, his demeanor is dark and nothing seems to light him up. Until Lark. Travis literally runs into Lark, a woman 15 years his junior and their attraction is instantaneous. Though young, her life has been full of tragedy and she carries a lot of baggage. And the chemistry is off the charts. Until Travis finds out she is his Chief's daughter. Now what should he do? Finally coming alive, the two now have to make decisions. What will they be? Loraine checks all the boxes for me when she writes. Swoony heroes, intelligent heroines and fantastic stories to back it all up. And to top it all off, we have a cameo by Buck Ryker!!! This is a fantastic addition to the Everyday Heroes World and has made my start to the weekend perfect!

Loraine is a master at picker her narrators and she must have had the voices of the two she chose in mind. Jason Clarke is so versatile and easily becomes Travis. He is broody, strong, protective and loving. Stella Hunter has an amazing range, and the emotional tug of Lark is huge. Each scene is perfectly executed. This team brought the best to this performance and with the addition of Aaron coming in as Buck just made it even sweeter!

Fantastic Story & Listen🎧 Gripping & Heartfelt!

I loved everything about this book, form Kim Loraine fabulous writing style to the characters and storylines she created to the perfectly casted narration. The story is set in K. Bromberg’s “Everyday Heroes World” but can be enjoyed on its own regardless of your familiarity of whether you are familiar with that series or not. If you have not read or listened to that series or Kim Loraine’s “Ryker Ranch” there is a good chance this book will wanting to do so after because it is that good and not just the story but the characters too. This story grabbed my attention right from the start and captivated it straight the end. I adored the two lead characters, they are realistic, easy to relate to and connect with. Travis Ryker was broken after his divorce, needing a new start he picked up and left his home in Sunrise, Montana and his family on the Ryker Ranch and transferred to a firehouse in California. His ex-wife still manages to get under his skin with her constant calls. It is all about work for him and his horse Ben, a therapy horse. Then Lark enters his life, with a bang and crash landing, he knocked her off her feet, well technically her Vespa. Lark is a troubled young lady, a traumatic event has damaged her and she battles her inner demons everyday. I thought these two were great together and perfect for each other. The chemistry between them was explosive despite their 15 year age gap. He was hesitant at first but he could not fight his attraction to her or the the chemistry between them. She finds solace in him but when he finds out who her father is she become forbidden fruit. But they can only deny themselves for so long, then life throws in another obstacle, one that sends Travis back to Montana. I loved how everything played out in this book, the story is beautifully plotted with plenty of drama, angst, heartfelt and emotional moments and a wonderful smoking hot romance. Kim Loraine, thank you for another awesome story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 And for the fabulous narration, Jason Clarke and Stella Hunter are talented narrators and voice artists. They did an awesome job bringing the characters to life, giving each their own voice and personality. Their portrayal of the each character was spot on, I loved how they took each role and made it their own sounding believable and just as I pictured them to sound. Jason Clarke played Travis’ role with perfection, swoon worthy and all. Stella Hunter did the same for Lark, she captured her persona to the tee. Both were great playing the secondary characters as well. Shout out to Aaron Shedlock for his guest appearance, he rocks the role of a swoon worthy cowboy too. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all of the characters emotions and projected them into their performance. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for the awesome listen🎧

I really liked this one. I loved the little unexpected parts even going into this blind. It had just the right amount of drama.

The narration by: Stella Hunter, Jason Clarke were so good for their characters. I loved the Duet Narration as well.
