Probably 4 those who are in the corrections field

It took me several goes at listening to this audio book. I can understand that authors like to read their own books. It 'may' even be beneficial? Their own words are given 'tone of voice', the author's voice. The anecdotes were interesting but I found Gary Pickering's voice dry, dull and monotonal. Other books I've listened to have had more animated readers. Lighter reading styles. He also reads at a slow steady pace. I was attracted to the title before anything else. I did find myself being able to imagine some of the things which Gary speaks about. Some things reminded me of films I'd seen, 'The Shawshank Redemption', but mainly Tom Hanks in 'The Green Mile'. Gary Pickering is more like Hank's character....reverse that. If someone else had read it, I probably would have enjoyed it more.
