Mom loved adages, quotes, slogans. There were always little reminders pasted on the kitchen wall. For example, the word THINK. I found THINK thumbtacked on a bulletin board in her darkroom. I saw it Scotch-taped on a pencil box she’d collaged. I even found a pamphlet titled THINK on her bedside table. Mom liked to THINK.

You’ve read the headlines, but you don’t know Jamie Lynn Spears. The world first met Jamie Lynn as a child star, when it was her job to perform, both on set and for the press. She spent years escaping into different characters—on All That, Zoey 101, and even in the role as Britney’s kid sister. But as she grew up, faced a teen pregnancy, raised her daughter on her own, pursued a career, and learned to stand on her own two feet, the real Jamie Lynn started to take center stage - a raw, blemished, and imperfect woman, standing in her own power.

Story
For a man who has been firmly in the public eye for the past decade or more, Matt Preston has been very, very quiet about his past and private life. There are reasons for this. Now, in Big Mouth, Matt opens up about his early years for the first time—the good and the bad, the tragic and the ecstatic. Like the man himself, it's a story that's joyous, funny and larger than life. It's also, perhaps unexpectedly, filled with pathos and emotional depth, set to a pulsating 1980s soundtrack.

Millions of viewers know and love Bob Saget from his role as the sweetly neurotic father on the smash hit Full House, and as the charming wisecracking host of America's Funniest Home Videos. And then there are the legions of fans who can't get enough of his scatological, out-of-his-mind stand-up routines, comedy specials, and outrageously profane performances in such shows as HBO's Entourage and the hit documentary The Aristocrats.

Now he’s opening up for the first time and sharing his behind-the-scenes stories in a warmly endearing, sharply observed, and frankly funny look at life in Hollywood. In 1986, Jon Cryer won over America as Molly Ringwald’s loyal and lovable best friend, Duckie, in the cult classic Pretty in Pink in a role that set the tone for his three-decade-long career in Hollywood. He went on to establish himself as one of the most talented comedic actors in the business.

Publisher's Summary
An Audible Best of the Year 2023 Celebrity Memoir Selection
This program is read by the author.
“...I love him, and I respect him, and I need him. We all do.” —from the foreword, written and read by Jamie Lee Curtis
If you would have told a young John Stamos flipping burgers at his dad’s fast-food joint that one day he’d be a household name and that, at the height of his success, he’d be living alone, divorced, with no kids, high on a cocktail of forgetting, he might’ve asked, “You want fries with that?”
John burst onto the scene in General Hospital, propelling him into the teen idol stratosphere, a place that’s often a point of no return. But Stamos beat the odds and over the past four decades has proved himself to be one of his generation’s most successful and beloved actors. Whether showing off his comedic chops on Full House or his dramatic skills on ER, pushing the boundaries on Broadway or living out his youthful dreams as an honorary Beach Boy, John has surprised everyone, most of all himself.
A universal story about friendship, love, loss, and the courage to embrace love once more, John Stamos’s memoir is filled with some of the most memorable names in Hollywood, both old and new. Funny, deeply poignant, and brutally honest, If You Would Have Told Me is a portrait of a boy who went from believing in Disney magic to a man who learns that we have to create our own magical moments in life.
A Macmillan Audio production from Henry Holt & Company.
Critic Reviews
Named a USA Today "Best Memoir to Read in 2023"
“An earnest debut memoir from the General Hospital, Full House, and ER star...Although Stamos is a legitimate celebrity himself, his memoir is a lesson in humility and gratitude for the people he’s shared scenes and stages with throughout his life...A portrait of a charming and charmed actor who has received plenty of love—and who has plenty of love to give...A heartfelt, sincere memoir filled with useful wisdom.” —Kirkus
“In this charming debut, Full House star Stamos reflects on fame and family...Readers will be enchanted.” —Publishers Weekly

Beautiful Read (technically Listen)!
It was a beautiful and insightful book and I really felt like as a CV old growing up in the 80’s with Full House and being a big fan of the show really enjoyed it. There was real genuine honesty in this book and he read it too which is great to hear the author read a book. Beautiful read, technically beautiful listen (audiobook and all). Thankyou John Stamos and all who were involved. Nice book!!!

Our favourite uncle wrote a book!
Hands up if you remember Uncle Jesse? The mullet-haired, crazy rocker, easy on the eye uncle from Full House? Or the heartthrob doctor, Anthony Gates from ER.
Well he wrote a book. And it was pretty bloody good!
I’ve loved John Stamos since his stint on Full House and knowing he was releasing a biography had me ready to listen! I listened to this on Audible, which was narrated by John, and it just added to his entire story.
It was funny, honest and touched on so many aspects of his life that I never realised even happened. I adored hearing about his relationship with his parents, especially his mum. I loved hearing about the friendships between himself and his costars. His journey to become a dad. And everything that happened in between.
This was such an easy listen that had me laughing throughout, while also feeling empathy and sorrow for parts of his life’s story.
This is one to definitely add to the audiobook list because I mean, who could listen to John’s voice all day!
