Publisher's Summary

Equal parts Dexter and 50 Shades, this is the eagerly awaited new novel from A. R. Torre, author of the award-winning erotic thriller The Girl in 6E.

The rules are the same. I can't open the door. I can't leave. I can't kill anyone.

The only difference is I don't set the rules anymore. Guards in gray uniforms do. It is everything I never wanted and everything I always deserved. I write to you now from a prison cell. My home for the next 20 to 30 years.

That's the going term for murder.

One of the best books I’ve ever read

I loved this series. So dark, so unique, and incredibly powerful and well written. These books will stick with me for a long time I think

Damn, she's good

Another killer tale by A.R.Torre. A little less playing soft on the characters, but still a little too slap-on-the-wristy.
Some of the timeline was confusing to keep up with, as was the action (Torre's action scenes always feel kinda blurry and short).
But it was great, Jorjeana Marie was the perfect narrator, and I hope Deanna comes back.

Exciting but lacking something

This was a great book, and I loved having more of Deanna. Not as exciting in a certain way than the first two were, but had it's own great moments. Still not sure how I feel about the ending though.
The narrator was excellent however! She brought Deanna to life.

Brilliant

Wonderful end to a wonderful trilogy. I could not put books down and listened till late at night, when at work, and even while driving (something I don't normally do). My heart broke about Jeremy's injuries and I am left needing to know if he lived and if so his responses to Deanna's decisions. I was left hoping that another book will be written. I believe Deanna is not as black as she paints herself to be and hope her future includes positivity, laughter and love.

No, No, No

Once again this was a great book however the ending was soul crushing. I I do understand the author had to go where the character lead her, I can only pray that there is a fourth installment. The narrator did another fantastic job. I just needed a different ending or more of an ending. Over all this trilogy was one of the best but as far as I'm concerned the second book was by far the most gripping of the three.

What a rollercoaster ride!

Great book! This story at first was pretty good. Then it got a little slow and I was getting worried. All of a sudden, the plot exploded! I now understand why it got slow. Wow, I wasn't expecting the book to take off in the direction it did. I didn't see it coming at all.

Deanna Madden had a terrible thing happen to her family and has since become a prisoner in her own home. In book 3, Deanna breaks all her own rules and decides she might be able to be a normal person or can she???

Absolutely awesome and mind-blowing. This whole series has been twisted and thrilling. The author, A R Torre does an awesome job on her plots and story-lines. She has the ability to combine steamy reading with thrills and chills. The narrator, Jorjeana Marie does a great job delivering this story to us complete with accents and emotions and so many different voices. Excellent job ladies!

OMG This series is the gift that keeps on giving!

Would you listen to If You Dare again? Why?

YES! I actually started listening to the entire series again AS SOON as I finished If You Dare.

What was one of the most memorable moments of If You Dare?

**SPOILER**
****************
****************
****************

When she discovered who REALLY did it.

Which character – as performed by Jorjeana Marie – was your favorite?

Deanna is my favorite, always. But she does a great job of everyone!

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Damned if you do, Damned if you don't. Damned.

Any additional comments?

I gave the story 4/5 stars ONLY because I wanted more. The plot throughout this 3 book series has been INCREDIBLE. I am an avid reader, and normally read one book while listening to another (not at the same time of course LOL). This series had me so thoroughly hooked that I couldn't think about any other books while I listened!
p.s. A.R Torre if you're reading this, I listened to your footnote and I am WAY TOO excited about the prospect of more books following Deanna's path!

Loved the first two. This one, not so much.

The author is witty and intelligent as ever, but this third book breaks format and is more of a Whodunit, and we damn well know who didn't dunit.
Worth a read but not up to the standards of the others. Readers will complain about the ending. Sequel bate.

Wow

What a journey! It has been a number of hours, lots of emotions, lots of time being spent thinking about Deanna and the other characters. And most of all, lots of emotion tied up in this story. So am I disappointed by the ending? No way. I think it's perfect. Everything about this tale is perfect.

I can't wait to see where it goes from here and I'm so glad that Deanna is still speaking to Alessandra and that this isn't the end.

This was the most action packed story of the series. Deanna ends up in jail and not for the reason you might think. The reader is told of the arrest and you have to work backwards from there. Lots of twists and turns and intrigue. It's most definitely worth the credit to continue on with Deanna.

Amazing book

Best book of the series. Although things may not always go the way you want, the ending is the way it should be. There are a few unanswered questions, at least from me.

A plausible 2nd follow-up sequel

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Definitely. Jorjeana Marie's narrating style fits this story perfectly. As long as she's the narrator, I'll keep reading the series via audiobook format.

Would you recommend If You Dare to your friends? Why or why not?

Yes, I'd recommend it to friends who enjoy a good thriller. It was believable and well executed even though I would have preferred a slightly different outcome.

What does Jorjeana Marie bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She added that extra layer of animation that I may not have had running through my head if I'd read the novel with my own two eyeballs.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

Yes, without hesitation. It has all the requisite story elements to make a good suspenseful movie.

Any additional comments?

'Jeremy is the first man that I have ever loved. But our love is a safety net riddled with holes. I love him because he looks at me like I am normal. He looks at me like I am normal because he doesn't know the whole of my depravity.' I had to accept Deanna's truth after listening to this section. It's what helped me accept the ending of this novel. I'm curious to see what future scenario A.R. Torre can come up with to entice fans of the series to continue following Deanna Madden's journey.

***WARNING.....SPOILER ALERT***

Where to begin....So when I listened to book one, I kept thinking "wow this poor girl "...She had been through so much. I really enjoyed listening to the first one.

Then book two...Ok, now she's starting to grate my nerves with her "I'm such a bad ass, I'm physcotic, blah blah blah....First of all, she killed her mother in self defense (doesn't make you a physco). Secondly, The uncle deserved what he got..I would of done the same thing! Third....the creep that was there to do everything he was determined to do to her...well...again, I would have done the same! Just because she thinks about killing people doesn't make her a bad ass anything.

I kept wishing she would get caught, kept wishing bad things would happen to her!

But....I just couldn't stop listening.
I did turn it off a few times because I just got so tired of her.

Book three....I was glad the end was near. Glad I gave all three a chance (because I just couldn't leave it unfinished), Glad it's over.

Disappointing Ending

I have enjoyed this series and was eagerly awaiting this finale. I have to say I’m bitterly disappointed with the way this story finishes. The light at the end of the tunnel is the author does tease a potential future story.

If you’ve read the other two books you need to read this one to complete the series. Just wish the ending was different.

Good part three

I can say I enjoyed this third book in the series, but, I felt it wasn't as good as the previous two. The main character is not a likeable character, although she certainly does have a memorable personality. Some character from the previous books were back and a few new ones were thrown in to spice up the story. I would read another book in this series if one is ever written. The narrator did a good job of book reading the story and of portraying the characters. Recommended that you read the previous books before diving into this one.

Not as good as The Girl in 6E

After reading 'the girl in 6E', I was desperate to listen to the second 'If You Dare', but I was very disappointed. It is nowhere as good as the first one, the storyline was okay, but that's it, just okay.
