About this listen

Miles Pussett is a former steeplechase jockey but he now gets his adrenalin rush from hurling himself, head first, down the Cresta Run, a three-quarter-mile long Swiss ice chute, reaching speeds of up to 80 miles per hour.

Finding himself in St Moritz during the same weekend as White Turf, when high-class horse racing takes place on the frozen lake, Miles gets talked into helping out with the horses. It is against his better judgement.

Seven years before, he left horseracing behind and swore he would never return. When he discovers something suspicious is going on in the races, something that may have a profound impact on his future life, Miles begins to search for answers. But someone is adamant to stop him—and they’ll go to any lengths to do it...

If you are a Dick Francis fan, don't read this book. If you want to read a light account of a character dealing with depression and addiction, maybe you will get something from it. Felix can write but this is not Dick's style at all. I am a huge fan and read his books over and over because they entertain, excite, scare and provoke thought. Dick has you involved in the story and invested into the outcome.
This book is bland.

NOT a thriller and not a 'Dick Francis' novel.

it's about a jockey with alcohol problems and depression the narrator has not got any better

not about racing 1 of his worst books
