What happens on the pitch is only half the story.

Being a footballer is not just kicking a ball about with 21 other people on a big grass rectangle. Sometimes being a footballer is about accidentally becoming best mates with Mickey Rourke, or understanding why spitting is considered football’s most heinous crime.

In How to be a Footballer, Peter Crouch took us into a world of bad tattoos and even worse haircuts, a world where you’re on the pitch one minute, spending too much money on a personalised number plate the next. In I, Robot, he lifts the lid even further on the beautiful game. We will learn about Gareth Bale’s magic beans, the Golden Rhombus of Saturday night entertainment and why Crouchy’s dad walks his dog wearing an England tracksuit from 2005.

Whether you’re an armchair expert or out in the stands every Saturday, crazy for five-a-side or haven’t put on a pair of boots since school, this is the real inside story of how to be a footballer.

Crouchy is a legend!

10/10 for everything really. Couldn't get more out of a book than crouchy's autobiography. I like it particularly because he reads it himself

Loved it

Crouchy has done another good job with this one. I like the way he’s structured the chapters and tells some good stories. Well read too.

More of the same , except with some delusion..

Listened to the first book and enjoyed it , along with the podcasts.
Always enjoyed them , this however is just more of the same.
Except where he's entered into the diatribe of how hard a footballers life is and the tactical genius of Tony Pulis ;)
At this point its difficult to take seriously what he's saying , whilst he still maintains his charisma his delusion of how he can be so critical based on what he won during his career manages to take away any respect he may have had..
Stick with the first book , this is rubbish

The more I hear from Peter Crouch, the more I like him. Nicest guy in football.

Another great book

Just finished, enjoyed the book similar to his first book. Few bits over lapped odd story told in both. All in all would recommend

Eye opening, funny and interesting

Loved every second of Crouchy's newest audiobook. An interesting listen from an interesting player, a fantastic role-model and humble human-being. Being a Stoke fan, it was interesting to hear some of the goings-on through the good years and the bad years. Hopefully not the last audiobook I listen to from Peter, that being said I don't know if there's much more he could talk about!

A very enjoyable and light hearted listen

Very enjoyable listen, very funny, and great that Peter Crouch is the actual narrator - unlike many other audio books.

Great second book

I absolutely loved the first book and this was as good if not better. I got quite emotional as he talked about his career ending. He talked about his career with such love, from the point of a fan more than a player. Brilliant piece of work.

Haven’t listened to it yet

I haven’t yet started listening to this book, however my trust in PC is so high that I know it’ll be a five star
