Story
Charlotte McBee knows she’s in for a challenge when she accepts a job as midwife for a dragon and a phoenix shifter. Being a fairy herself, it isn’t the supernatural world that scares her. It’s the thought of delivering a giant metal dragon’s egg, which has her gritting her teeth in pain for poor Jillian, the anxious mother-to-be. While preparing for the big event, a handsome town resident catches her eye. Leonard is kind, charming, and a little bit mysterious. He’s also suffering from a highly unusual condition brought on by an ancient fairy curse.

She must do everything in her power to keep the truth away from them. Which would be much easier without the unfelt presence lurking within Ivy House's borders. It seems an enemy has figured out a way to magically bypass Ivy House's defenses.

A storm is brewing and so is a budding romance. I've been told I'm a force to be reckoned with. That I blow onto the scene like a tornado. I've stopped caring if that's a compliment or a dig. Now I just wear it like a badge of honor. So when life threw me a curveball and I ended up going from a cushy job in New York City to the tiny Southern town of Grimm Cove, I thought I was ready for anything. Ha! Not quite. You see, Grimm Cove is teeming with supernaturals. And since I've known they exist for a hot minute, I'm still in a state of total shock.

Story
After narrowly surviving my debut into the magical world, I made a promise to myself: no more hiding in broom closets. But with the Mages' Guild reorganizing faster than anyone thought possible, and naming me as their number one target, that promise seems a little far-fetched. Especially since my training with Callie and Dizzy, the highly experienced dual-mage pair, goes off like a cake in a cannon. Left to find someone that can fill the role, it isn't until a formal dinner party goes horribly wrong that I find the best (and worst) solution imaginable: Reagan Somerset, the leather-clad crazy woman who busted into my broom closet sanctuary in the first place.

Publisher's Summary
Escape with three warm-hearted romantic comedy novellas about women’s second chances at first love from beloved romance authors Suzanne Enoch, Molly Harper, and Karen Hawkins.
Take Two by Suzanne Enoch
Eleanor Ross has it all: Fame, fortune - and Brian MacCafferty, the perfect combo of bodyguard and assistant who makes every day a breeze. MacCafferty anticipates her needs, puts out her fires, and - once upon a time - nearly put a ring on her finger.
And when a scandal erupts that could ruin El, it’s Brian who rushes to the rescue and joins her in hiding. Will El discover there’s no hiding from true love? And is she finally ready to take a second chance for her own, real life happily-ever-after?
Pasties and Poor Decisions by Molly Harper
Anastasia Villiers has hit rock bottom. And that rock is named Espoir Island.
Abandoned by her disgraced investment banker husband who liquidated all of their assets and fled the country, Anastasia is left with nothing - except for Fishscale House, a broken-down Queen Anne in the Michigan hometown she swore she’d left for good.
If Ana quickly renovates and flips the dilapidated building, she can get back to Manhattan and salvage her life. The problem? The only person on the island with historical renovation cred is Ned Fitzroy - Ana’s first love - who insists she help him with the labor herself. As Ana gets reacquainted with Ned, and her hometown, she realizes home may be just what she’s always wanted.
Last Chance Motel by Karen Hawkins
Every big romance deserves a second chance. But Evan and Jessica Cho Graham are looking at the last chance: More specifically, The Last Chance Motel in Dove Pond, NC where Jessica has escaped to start a happily independent life, separate from her smart, sexy, but driven husband.
Evan has been wildly successful in every endeavor, except keeping the heart of the one woman he loves more than anything. If he’s going to repair this mess, he’s going to need all the help he can get - even if it's from the crankiest handyman in B&B history - to turn his second chance with Jess into a perfect storybook happy ending.

A Fairly Good Audiobook
Overall I'd say this book is alright. In my opinion the narrator is great but the actual story lines just feel unfinished to me. Each novella features a couple that either are getting a second chance, so I kind of expected some sort of resolution for each story While these characters did make some important decisions the endings still don't feel like everything is settled and going to work out, which I kind of expect as a reader. As it is I feel the novellas should have been longer and had a more conclusive ending.

Three stories about first love and second chances.
Three stories of first love and second chances. I really enjoy all three stories. In Take Two, Eleanor and Brian had called it quits, but he is still working for her. He makes her life so much easier and when a scandal breaks, he saves her career. Can he convince her that she belongs with him?
In Pasties and Poor Decisions, Ana ran away from her life on Espoir Island and left Ned with a broken heart. Now she is coming home after a failed marriage and her reception isn't very warm. Is she just there to sell the home her ex bought her or will she stay. Ned needs to know.
In Last Chance Motel, Jess still loves Evan, but she won't be second in his life. He is so caught up in business, that he neglected everything else, including Jess. Evan wants her back and is willing to do anything to get her to change her mind. He gets a little help from an old guy who has been through the same thing. Can Evan step up and change things?

For People Who Love Second Chances
These three short stories manage to do what whole books manage not to do, give you a complete story. I was drawn to this book by Molly Harper and Amanda Ronconi, one of my favorite authors and narrators. But all three stories were heartwarming a little exasperating and charming. In Suzanne Enoch's Take Two, MacCafferty was a bit of a door mat for 4 years but I liked it when he finally stood up for himself, better late than never. Eleanor was kinda of a b until MacCafferty forced her to be a grown-up. In Molly Haper's Pasties and Poor Decisions, the roosters came home to roost as the saying goes. Ana lost herself and everything else after she decided that she was the only person who mattered in her life. Leaving behind all the people who truly cared about her. Ned was a great guy but hard of hearing and only hurt himself when he didn't listen or pay attention when Ana told him her plans and he just brushed her wishes aside. But coming home again everything is worked out by listening. I wish their were more consequences for Ana's daughters and her ex-husband but all's well that ends well and Ana got everything she needed and more. In Karen Hawkins' Last Chance Motel a husband learns his lesson and two other wordly's give him a push in the right direction. To be fair it wasn't all Evan's fault. Jessica stopped speaking up for herself and their marriage and no matter what your face telegraphy's no one can read your mind so you must tell them what you're feeling and thinking. If you don't you can't then blame them for your life ending up in a place you never intended for it to go. With a little help they got back on track.
These were great stories and Amanda Ronconi was excellent in her narration. I love second chance stories. It's always nice to read when people get a do-over because there are so few of those in real life.

Great stories that went well together with
Great stories that go well together with the best reader. The mood of the stories is similar and going from one to the next is easy, so I think they were well chosen for this anthology. Narration was spot on and you could really fall into the stories easily. I'll be looking up more of these authors for sure.

Surprisingly great
This review may be a little long the performance was excellent as anything I’ve heard with Amanda Ronconi. No I don’t tend to buy anthologies very often unless they have an author in them that I already really enjoy then I am usually happy with the story done by the author I already know and very rarely buy one of the other authors but this was amazing I actually really enjoyed the stories by all three authors they were excellent even though they were separate stories the theme tied in well And I love the idea of redemption in love I hope you enjoy it as much as I did I do not believe you work at this purchase

Cute Stories with they were longer
Amanda Ronconi is one of my favorite narrators, and she knows how to make the characters come alive. You can never go wrong with her if it's a small town story that has quirky characters. Now that is out of the way, time to dive into the stories.
Take Two by Suzanne Enoch
We have Eleanor Ross and Brian MacCafferty in this story. They use to have a relationship, and now they have a working one. Okay, not really. This story was adorable, and a quick listen. They had a lot to work on to repair all aspects of their lives. It's nice little pick me up story.
Pasties and Poor Decisions by Molly Harper
We have Anastasia Villers and Ned Fitzroy. In this story Anastasia hits rock bottom, and needs to come crawling home. She never thought that her coming would be a welcoming one, but it wasn't what she expected. Ned and Anastasia use to have a relationship until she ghosted him. Need some patching up with these. Honestly, this story could have been a full on novel, because there's potential to make it longer. However, it was a cute listen.
Last Chance Motel by Karen Hawkins
This was a super cute story. We have Evan and Jessica Graham. They have an extremely rocky relationship. It was so bad that Jessica left Evan and sent him divorce papers. Evan tries to win back Jessica, but has an uphill battle. Overall, it was a cute story.
Overall, these stories were cute. They all could have been made the stories a full fledge novels, but it was good to have something quick to listen. Also, they were heart-warming, and gave fuzzy feelings at the end.

Not a true midwestern accent
This review is just for book 2 by Harper. Love everything I have ever read by Harper. But ronconis midwestern accent is very wrong . As a native Michiganian who spent a lot of time on mackinac island growing up, the midwestern accent is more like the accent of the Anna character actually, and the weird “midwestern accent “ adopted by the islanders is more like some weird regional East coast accent (I have spent much time on east coast too). I have never in all my life heard a midwestern accent like in the book. Factual fallacy. But good story and character development as usual with Harper and good narration by ronconi besides.
