Publisher's Summary

'Guardiola has no balls. He drove me like a Fiat...I'm a Ferrari', Zlatan Ibrahimovic - professional football's most mercurial player, Swedish national hero, tabloid fixture, fashion icon, modern-day philosopher and black belt in Taekwondo.

Born to a Muslim father from Bosnia, and a Catholic mother from Croatia, Zlatan recounts his extraordinary life story, from his poverty-stricken upbringing as an immigrant in Malmö, Sweden, to becoming one of the world's most sought-after and expensive players, gracing Europe's finest clubs, from Ajax to Juventus, Internazionale to Barcelona, Milan to Paris Saint-Germain, and now Manchester United.

I Am Zlatan reveals a rare and ferocious intelligence, willpower and God-given talent most recently exhibited when Zlatan scored all four goals for Sweden in a 4-2 victory against England. His fourth goal, a 30-yard overhead kick with his back to goal is widely regarded as one of the greatest goals of all time.

The BBC described it as a goal that 'combined unfathomable imagination and expert technique'.

Even if you're not into soccer!

Even though I'm not really into soccer (except when the Dutch national team is involved in the World Cup), I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Zlatan is a remarkable, likeable character with a remarkable career, who speaks honestly about an interesting world/sport/business I knew little about.

Terrible narration!

Why get an English guy to read the Zlatan story? Swedes speak English very well. A Swedish reader would have done far greater justice than Hillier. The story was brilliant, the narration was a total let-down!

Pay Zlatan to read!

It’s an interesting book for anybody into soccer. But it’s a book written by Zlatan, read by a semi-bored British lad. He probably read it as well as he could, but that’s still not Zlatan!

If you think you know who Zlatan is, trust me you don’t

Simply put, I’ve watched this man become a legend but never knew who he is until I got this book. From scale 0 to 100, I rate this book Zlatan out of 100

Zlatan but not zlatan

Love the book and story, but honestly.. A deep English accent just doesn't give me the Zlatan feeling.

The best sports book out there

I thoroughly enjoyed this audiobook. This is easily the best football book I have read (listened to) and I would say even the best sports book. Zlatan says it like it is, and this approach is no different when it comes to telling his own life story. He speaks with such clarity and honesty unlike many other biographies from other sports people, The part about Guardiola is hilarious. I disagree with some of the comments that the British narrator was the wrong choice for this audiobook. I think it was a touch of genius. The London accent worked for me as even though Zlatan is Swedish, that type of voice gave a sense of the tough neighborhood he must have grown up in. If you had a Swedish-accented narrator speaking English to tell the story, it would not have been the same authentic experience. I strongly recommend this audiobook for football and even sports lovers.

Most entertaining player ever

Best footballer rags to riches story I have yet to read. Zlatan has never changed, some call it ego but he sure does back it up with all his magic.

Poor narration

This should be a great book, many have said it’s a great read, but the narrator is so poor. Reading way to fast doesn’t get the story across thus couldn’t carry on listening

Good book

Excellent book. Not so keen on the narration I slowed it to 0.8 speed to enjoy the narration as it felt a little rushed.
