cute except for when the huntsman shows up, then it's all fangs and claws. Liam and Russ meet under sudden circumstances and fall head over paws straight away. I love their bond and can't wait to read more!

Red fox shifter Liam Reynard is fleeing for his life after a vengeful, cheating ex-boyfriend hires a huntsman to kill him. Luckily, Liam has been offered the job of head librarian in Fox Hollow, in the Adirondack Forest of New York State. Is it luck or fate that Liam’s car breaks down and he’s rescued by a hunky wolf shifter, Russ Lowe, who turns out to be his fated mate. Russ is still grieving the recent death of husband but he can’t ignore the feelings and the bond between him and Liam. But has Liam inadvertently exposed the town of shifters to great danger by leading the huntsman to their door?

This was a sweet supernatural mystery / romance with two decent main characters, some interesting subplots, bookended by some gripping moments. Liam’s foxy nature is wily, while Russ’s wolf nature is more forceful and the guys have some amusing conversations with their shifter animals who always seem to think they know best. I’m sort of used to the fated mates = instalove by now but I would have liked Liam and Russ’s relationship to have taken longer to form so we could see the chemistry unfold—the whole story occurred over 2-3 days so it felt pretty hasty. 🎧 Overall, this was a cute story enhanced by the talented veteran voice actor, John Solo, who weaves his usual fun magic on the audio.
