Carter ist käuflich. Leeland als Freund zu bezeichnen, wäre zu viel verlangt. Allerdings kennen sie sich schon eine ganze Weile. Als sie sich im Supermarkt begegnen, bekommt Carter einen unschlagbaren Preis genannt, weshalb er den dazugehörigen Auftrag eigentlich nur annehmen kann. Er soll Informationen beschaffen, die Einfluss auf das gesamte Weltgeschehen haben könnten. Wenn es Drecksarbeit zu erledigen gibt, sucht man sich nun mal qualifiziertes Personal... jemanden wie Carter.
