Is your husband so horrible that you’d ask your best friend to kill him?

Penny: I know my husband has cheated on me. But I can’t believe what I just found in the bedside drawer. Are my children safe... ?

Lisa: The first time he did it was on our wedding anniversary. He broke down in tears afterwards. That’s the thing about Simon. He’s always sorry... until the next time.

Holly: My husband is useless. He just loafs around the house all day and spends my money. But now I think he’s done something far worse.

We’ve descended on Penny’s stunning country home for a rare girls’ weekend.

As the cocktails flow, it turns out we’re all keeping secrets. Bloody hell, we sure can pick them.

We clink our glasses. “Here’s to our horrible husbands. May they get what’s coming to them.”

Good friends will die for you. But only best friends will kill for you.

Good. Ok overall. Ending was a bit different but it all worked out in the end I guess

Ending lost me

Very interesting story at the beginning, especially how the past & present is constantly juxtapositioned and how the characters' lives slowly unfold. Great exploration of each character- why they are what they are.
It starts to go downhill when the main action scene is played out. The story does require some suspension of belief but by the time we're at the part where things are spilling out (literally and figuratively), the suspension of belief starts to stretch a bit too much.
The resulting conclusion and story resolution lacked logic and felt a bit rushed. Quite an anticlimax really.
Unfortunate, as the story had great potential!

It was going so good, until the end!

Was a good book to make the time go by with lots of twists and turns. A little far fetched and predictable but still a good story

Was an easy listening story

It was an implausible plot with many loose ends missing, but an easy listen, and an entertaining if unbelievable plot. I found the relationship between the three main characters fairly inauthentic with nothing much in the story to suggest why they were their ride or die besties. The narrator’s performance was slightly robotic and there was way too much continual reference of “best friend/s” as a descriptor.

Implausible but kept me listening
