Publisher's Summary

If life really was a fairy tale, Zakara would never be the damsel in distress. She'd be a thief, and Prince Charming wouldn't have a clue how to steal the heart of the conniving criminal. Zakara saves not one, but three men locked inside the tallest tower. Her first instinct is to ditch them as soon as possible, but they have one thing that intrigues her more than wealth: Magic.

Fae magic once ruled the world, until it disappeared without a trace. Only myths of the magic wielders linger in their destroyed society. The three prisoners claim to be fae, but she doesn't trust them. She doesn't trust anyone.

Can Prince Ryder convince the pretty thief to lead them to the Hopeless City? Or will she kill him before they even arrive? Contains mature themes.

interesting

This was an interesting story. I like the writing style and the way the flowed. The ended left me wanting the next installment. The performance in the audio was great and mad for an interesting aspect of the story.

Interesting first book

This is my first book I’ve listened to by this author. I like it so far. The main female character is just ok for me. She’s feisty but in a little bit of an annoying way. The story is still a bit confusing to me. She almost dies breaking the trio out of a prison but then lives. She has her dads sword. Maybe she’s half Fae??? She has to guide these Fae to the kingdom that’s supposed to be ruled by one of the trio? I’m still lost on actually why they need her for a guide though... The steam level is low-medium. More than kissing but not too involved. Has potential for more steam in the next books. Some authors seem really uncomfortable writing sex scenes which is pretty weird when you think of the RH genre. This author so far seems comfortable with it so we will see how these relationships evolve in the next books. My only pet peeve is I wish authors would just do 1 long standalone, duet or trilogy instead of doing 4 plus short books. I’m glad that at least 2 of the books are on audible escape. So far I’m still interested enough to purchase and continue to book 2.
