About this listen

A wildland firefighter falls for his best friend’s widowed sister after she and her kids move in next door, in this flaming hot book three in the BookTok viral SKY RIDGE HOTSHOTS series.

“Don’t ever let me hear you talk about yourself like that, do you understand? You’re perfect just like this.”

Being a hotshot wildland firefighter is all I've ever known. It's my greatest passion. This job is dangerous, and after watching my parents' marriage fail because of it, I knew long ago I'd never be a relationship kinda guy. That all changes when Teddy moves in down the street. As her brother’s best friend, I’ve always been Xander to her, but secretly I’ve always wanted to be more. She’s recently widowed, with two young kids and another soon on the way. With a heart locked up like Fort Knox after losing her husband, breaking down Teddy's defenses will be damn near impossible . . .but I want to show her that I'm here to stay.

As superintendent, my duty to my crew has always been my priority. But with Teddy's heart on the line, can I give up the only life I've ever known? Or am I doomed to be honor bound and lose the only woman I've ever loved?

I couldn't wait to listen to this book and I was disappointed that it didn't live up to what I expected it to be, I wanted a bit more fire action with heart pounding moments instead we got yearning and boring moment. I know when there is a loss of a spouse or partner there is no time limit on grief before jumping into another relationship but Teddy, in less than a year after losing her husband and having his baby six months later had moved on with her neighbor and bother's friend.

The story was boring from start to finish. I could have stopped listening at anytime, but I did not want to miss out if the story became more nteresting.

The narrators were wonderful.

Was okay but not great

Duet Narration - truly perfection

This was a 5 star read right up to the end because I despise the accidental pregnancy trope and honestly there was nothing at the beginning to indicate this.

I truly loved the journey though and listening to Teddy find herself and her self confidence throughout this book was heart warming. I also loved the full circle moment with our characters.

The narration was perfection, no notes.

A full circle moment
