Holly thought she was going to Waterhole, Texas to marry William Pitt; a young rancher she’d been corresponding with. However, the old, rude and arrogant man who picks her up at the stagecoach station in San Antonio to take her to meet her fiancé, reveals along the way that he is actually who she has been writing to. Now that she’s agreed to the marriage there is nothing, she can do but go through with the ceremony.
When the stagecoach has an accident a few miles outside of Waterhole, Holly is able to run away wearing only her wedding dress. As she heads toward the town, she falls over a log in front of a small cabin, hitting her head.
