If there are two sides to every story, someone is always lying…

Jack: Three words to describe my wife: Beautiful. Ambitious. Unforgiving.

Anna: I only need one word to describe my husband: Liar.

When a woman is murdered in Blackdown village, newsreader Anna Andrews is reluctant to cover the case. Anna’s ex-husband, DCI Jack Harper, is suspicious of her involvement, until he becomes a suspect in his own murder investigation.

Someone is lying, and some secrets are worth killing to keep.

There's the sweaty guilty cop who totally ignores the most basic police procedures and whose behaviour is wholly unrealistic, and then there's the boozy, sassy reporter swerving all over the place. Everybody's in loads of pain all the time, tortured by vast amounts of tragedy that's been slapped on like peanut butter, oh and there's murders right left and centre, silly twists and improbable turns that are constantly being drip-fed fed to us as if we're idiots. Listenable, just, but pretty bloody absurd, truth be told..

Pretty Heavy Handed

The storyline was unique, interesting, compelling, intriguing and all the musts for a good crime & mystery novel....I couldn't stop listening. My daughter has listened too and loves the characters. Very clever hearing from both perspectives. As always Richard Armitage does an amazing job as did Stephanie Racine. Loved it!

This book is quite interesting there so many twists and turns that I did not see coming, it had me guessing all the way right till the end. There is a few scenes that made me feel uncomfortable so a bit of a trigger warning

Another great story from the Queen of dark and twisty thrillers.
His and Hers is not for the faint hearted as it explores various dark themes (emotional, physical and substance abuse).
Trigger warning also as there is reference to animal abuse, however, it's kept brief and there is no details or description.
The plot runs at a good pace and keeps you guessing the entire time. Unfortunately it does become a little farcical towards the end with a couple of questionable plot and 'as if' points. However, a little bit of suspension of belief helps enjoy the thriller for what it is.
Richard Armitage is absolutely brilliant, delivering a great performance. Unpopular opinion but I didn't enjoy Stephanie Racine's narration.
While I appreciate the clarity of the narration, too many long pauses and the tone comes across as slightly loud or forceful at times, which can be a bit jarring. Additionally, the character voices tend to sound very similar, making it harder to distinguish between them. A more varied and natural delivery would really elevate the listening experience.

Addictive, unputdownable dark twisty tale
