Publisher's Summary

Tenn

I’m too busy to let a mate slow me down.

As one of the last two water dragons in existence, I know it’s my responsibility to help build our numbers back up. But I’m not ready for a mate or a kid. Not yet. Then, Khyler walks into the room and has me questioning everything.

My instincts scream that the kind med student is a divine omega...and my fated mate. Pursuing a relationship with him could mean changing everything about my life.

Am I ready to take the risk for true love?

Khy

I’ve always been wary of dragons, but Tenn is too hot to resist.

My grandfather raised me to stay away from dragons if I didn’t want to exist only to make their babies. But I can tell Tenn isn’t like that. He wants to protect me, but loves that I can defend myself. And he kisses me like I’m the most precious thing in the world.

Being with Tenn means stepping fully into the world of shifters, and I don’t know if I’m ready for that. But when rogue dragons come to town with their sights set on me, I’ll need to rely on him if I’m going to stay safe. And I’m about to find out there’s no way to resist an alpha dragon, especially when he’s your mate.

His Scarred Dragon brings together a scarred alpha with a traumatic past and his bright omega mate. Khy and Tenn may be opposites, but their love burns bright in this m/m shifter romance.

An mpreg dragon shifer, hurt/comfort romance!🐲

This was a fun paranormal opposites attract, Grumpy and Sunshine romance.
The world building was surreal and enchanting.
Tenn is a wary water dragon. He isn't ready to be saddled with a mate and kids yet. But when Khyler enters his life, he changes his perspective on things and he can't help want to take a risk at pursuing a relationship with his fated mate.

This was engaging and I liked the concept of fated mates an an alpha with a traumatic past.
If you like a sweet dragon shifter romance with fated mates and mpreg this is for you.

Gabriel Amari did a fabulous audio delivery as well.

His Scarred Dragon

I started out loving everything about this story. Tenn and Khyler both being very strong characters had me excited about the way the story was heading...however, when the characters started going hot and cold, flipping back and forth with their feelings for each other it fell short to me. It became so “wishy washy" when it comes to first Tenn’s feelings, then jumps to Khyler’s feelings, back and forth over and over... ughhh! I found it very frustrating to the point I almost didn’t finish. It felt like the author was padding the story with their negative emotional angst instead of creating action in the storyline. It’s not by any means a horrible story but it’s just not for me. Narrator Gabriel Amari did a really good job with the voices bringing all the different characters to life.

Sadly Disappointed

This is the fifth book in The Divine Dragons Series. A story full of potential that wasn’t met. The plot was entertaining and it was steady throughout the book. I found the story and characters likeable. The characters were somewhat developed and thought out. Tennyson and Khyler are the MC’s of this book and mates. The narrator did a good job and think that he made the story better than it would’ve been. I voluntarily read an advance copy of this book for an honest review.

A new divine omega

Khyler's divine omega status had been hidden from the dragon community for all his life, and now that he's been "discovered", so has his alpha mate, Tennyson, aka Ten. Their relationship does NOT get off to a good start. In fact, it's almost adversarial on Ten's part, because he isn't ready to believe he has a fated mate, For his part, Khyler doesn't want to become a baby factory. He has plans for his future, dreams he's not willing to give up just because fate decrees it. Though they eventually work out their differences, and Ten finally gets his head on straight, they must still overcome the threat that Khyler's father poses, and of course that provides the other conflict in the story, even if it's half-heartedly and implauisbly done.. The event that precedes the climax is predictable if you've read the other divine dragon tales, and that was disappointing. The narration was fine.

His Sacred Dragon

This is a really good series! I enjoyed the set up a lot and the characters. There was a lot of sass in some of these characters with banter that made me grin. Kyler and Tenn’s story is work for them it took them some time to get together which made the pay off even more worth it. Neither was sure of what they wanted and yet they did finally figure it out. These two were a really good couple!

Missing Something

Khyler was so sassy and had a take charge attitude and Ten was sweet and stubborn. But still something was missing from them, I think they blew hot and cold to many times to really make a connection.
Gabriel Amari did an amazing job with the voices, he gave the story a little glimmer.

Promising setup, missing conflict...

I really, really wanted to like this book. The setup was interesting, and the author developed characters that had autonomy and personalities. It started off promising, and I kept waiting for it to pick up.

Out of a six hour book, I waited four and a half hours before there was any real action, and it was wrapped up quickly without any major set backs. I think the downfall of this book is that there just wasn't a real conflict, either in the characters relationships or plot-wise. The characters were well suited for each other, so the hot and cold arguments they had felt forced and unnatural.

The saving grace was the audio. Gabriel Amari is a talent to watch out for in narration. I honestly thought there were two separate narrators for Tennyson and Khyler at first. He did a fantastic job of creating characters with different voice quality. I would absolutely listen to other books narrated by him in a heartbeat.

Absolutely Love this Series

I received an ARC of this audio for my honest review. Tenn has been without a mate for hundreds of years, and frankly he kind of likes it that way. Khyler is a divine omega, as such he is one of a few who can get pregnant. For a while he thought he was the only one. Tenn meets Khyler and feels an instantaneous connection. However, Tenn isn't ready to be tied down to a mate and have a family so he pushes Khyler away. Gabriel does an amazing job narrating.

Loved Tenn and Khy!

I really enjoyed Tennyson and Khyler. Tennyson is one of the last water dragons and knows he is responsible for increasing their numbers, but he's not ready. He meets Khyler and knows that he is his mate. Tenn tries to push Khyler away, but Khyler is a divine omega and that hard to do. This was good! Gabriel Amari did a good job with narration. He did a good job differentiating the characters voices.

Hope this isn't the end

I have enjoyed every entry in this series and this is another great one. Tenn and Khy make a wonderful pair and I thought their initial reluctance to commit was very believable. How could a divine omega in this world not worry that he was only desired for breeding and not for himself as a fully rounded being? How could Tenn not be concerned when his whole life plan is turned upside down by meeting his fated mate? I found the exploration of these issues pulled me deeply into their story. Mix that with the usual suspense as others try to abduct the divine omegas for evil purposes and you have a first rate book. Gabriel Amari brings these dragons to life with his usual skill and emotional range. I know this says book 5 of 5, but I hope both Haven and Amari bring us back again to see how the clans get on now that our dragons are mated.

Wow

Ok I must now go and devour the rest of this authors backlist. This really was a fantastic story, I listened to it without the previous books and I really enjoyed it but I think I would have got a little more out of it by listening to the previous books. The narration was spot on and I really loved the chemistry between the main characters. Fantastic novel.

Scarred Dragon - solid listen

I enjoyed the book. I have to adjust to the narrator at the start of each book but settle into him as it goes. The book has a good storyline and chemistry—a great addition to the series.

Kind of grumpy dragon and his sweet omega

Ten isn't ready for a mate, but fate has other plans. Khy, (had to read the book for the spelling 🙂), a med student and divine omega has been concentrating on his career path. Again, fate has other ideas for both of them 😊
When some enemy dragons come around and try to take Khy, Ten steps in to help protect Khy. Enjoyed the story.
Gabriel Amari gave a good performance. I was totally engaged in the story, enjoyed his voices for the various characters. A good way to enjoy the book.

Very Enjoyable

This is a very enjoyable book and a great addition to the series. Although it seems like all the dragons have now found divine omega (DO) mates, I really hope the author gives us a final story to close the circle and let us know if dragon-kind is saved and all the clans learn to live together. This particular story had a bit less external angst and peril for the DO Khyler, but a lot of internal doubt on the part of Khyler, who thinks Ten only wants him for breeding to save his clan, and Ten, who thinks he is unworthy of the smart, motivated Khyler. It was sometimes heart-breaking to watch them struggle. It was a very emotional story, and I loved the way the other DOs, especially Beau, supported Khyler. It's always nice to have friends who have been there. There is a bit of drama and danger, especially after the pregnancy is revealed, but I liked that Khy didn't have to give up his dreams and goals.

The narration was good. Well-paced with strong delivery of emotions and feelings.

Great addition

Jill Haven is an amazing writer, have not found anything she did that I did not like. Khy and Tenn are fantastic characters to get to know. Gabriel Amari did a great job with the narration. Think the book can stands on its own, but bets enjoyed as a series.

Couldn't connect

There was just something with the narrator that I didn't click with. I'm not sure if there were errors in the book or the narration but certain words and names were incorrect and it took me out of the story enough that I couldn't really get invested in the relationship between Ten and Khyler.

I've enjoyed the books I've read in this series so far, but this one just didn't grab me as much as I'd hoped it would.
