Publisher's Summary

He needs someone to work with his son. She needs a job. They need to keep their hands to themselves.

Welcome to Seattle, the Emerald City and home to The Single Dads of Seattle. Ten sexy single fathers who play poker every Saturday night, have each other's backs, love their children without quarter, and hope to one day find love again.

This is Mark's story....

Single dad of Seattle Dr. Mark Herron can't believe anyone would celebrate their divorce. The dissolution of his marriage left him and his son with a huge hole to fill in their home - and their hearts. So when he overhears a lovely stranger and her friends celebrating the end of her marriage, he's mystified - and then intrigued - by her determination to put the past behind her. But when he learns that Tori Jones needs a job, he knows this can't be a coincidence.

Tori might be telling the world nothing's got her down, but the truth is she's hit rock bottom. Her husband didn't just cheat on her, he took all her money, including her college fund, which means her marriage is over, and so is her dream to go to grad school and help children with special needs. So when a handsome stranger offers her a job caring for his special needs son, she knows she can't turn it down...

Even if what she's feeling for Mark is far from professional.

Now Mark's finding it hard to keep his hands to himself, and Tori's struggling to keep her thoughts from straying to dangerous territory. Will they be able to keep their distance from each other, or will being hired by the sexy single dad be Tori's biggest problem of all?

Note: This book can be enjoyed as a stand-alone. It includes lots of steamy scenes, cursing, and, of course, as with all my books, this has an HEA and no cliff-hanger or cheating. If you like single dads who take charge, this book is for you.

Love this Story ❤️

This story kept my interest from the beginning. I love this group of single dads who get together and support each other. My heart goes out to Mark and his son Gabe but they do what they can to get by. Tori is wonderful and really clicks with Mark and Gabe. They both didn't have great relationships the first time around so are a bit afraid of another relationship. Once they decide to let it happen, it was beautiful! I really loved the narration too! Looking forward to listening to the next book!

love it

One crazy night out with her friends, Tori is celebrating her divorce, and looking for a job. Her education is children with special needs. At the same bar, Mark over hears her conversation. She would be perfect for a position he has to fill. Mark is the father to Gabe, a cute, adorable special needs boy. He needs one on one assistance. He arranges for her to meet Gabe and offers her the job.
Their attraction to each other can jeopardize her job. One mistake from her past puts Gabe into danger.
Tori and Mark are a perfect couple. and Gabe is a remarkable character in this story.
Zachary Johnson and Allyson Voller are amazing narrators. they captured the personalities of each character with perfection.

Sweet center with a spicy edge.

Everything about a Whitley Cox story makes me want to smile. Hired by the Single Dad brings the funny wrapped in heart and romance. Mark and Tori are at a crossroads after some heartaching personal setbacks. Love has not been kind the first time around, but then again sometimes romance can prove sweeter the second time around. Delicious has a sweet center with a spicy edge.

Hired by the Single Dad

Wow I loved this book! There is nothing sexier then a Dad that loves his child unconditionally. Mark meet Tori on a chance meeting, but knew she would be perfect to help him with his autistic son, Gabe. Mark and Tori instantly were attracted to each other but neither one of them would take their relationship past professional for Gabe's sake. Until one night. I can't wait to see who the next book will be about! Zachary Johnson and Allyson Voller were both incredible narrating these characters.

Amazing story and performance! I'm in love!

I adore books with single dads. I adore books featuring children on the spectrum even more. This was a wonderful story of two people who find themselves together and fighting through baggage and past history. It was beautifully performed by Allyson Voller and Zachary Johnson, both of whom I just discovered and am in love with their voices. They pack perfect intensity, filled with emotions that make you feel everything along with them. I can't say enough good things about this book. Seriously highly recommend it!!!

What single dad fans love and more

Single Father romance fans, meet the start to a new series to obsess about. I am one of these fans. This book was just what I love and so much more. Tori and Mark both know the pain of a broken marriage. They actually meet when Tori's friends throw her a separation celebration. Mark tells Tori about a doctor friend he knows who needs someone for his autistic son. Tori takes the job and finds out it's Mark. Tori ends up being just what Mark and his son Gabe needed. Feelings start to develop and they cross the line of employer and employee. Then Tori's past comes into the picture to almost ruin it all. I loved this book! The relationship between Gabe and Tori was so sweet and had my heart clenched. Then the heat between Tori and Mark was off the charts. I loved meeting the members of the Single Dads Of Seattle. I can't wait for more! These narrators were the perfect voices for this story. They fit Tori and Mark and really what I would envision them sounded like if I read the book instead of listened to it.

Excellent Audiobook

This was the first book I've read/listen to by Whitney Cox. It was a shorter listen that I completely enjoyed. It's not often an author can write a shorter story that is believable and I'll re-listen to it. I loved the storyline and it had wonderful characters. A favorite for certain.

Zachary Johnson and Allyson Voller are excellent narrators. Their performances were perfect. They are so easy to listen to.

Sweet Romance!

This was my first Whitley Cox's book, and won't be my last. This is the first book in the The Single Dads of Seattle Series. This is a great start to the Series. I love Single Dad Romance! Mark and Tori's story is sweet, heartwarming, and beautifully written. They share an instant attraction, and an undeniable chemistry. Gabe, Mark's son with special needs, is such a great addition to the story. The supporting are great and intriguing. Zachary Johnson and Allyson Voller did an amazing job with the narration. I enjoyed it. Looking forward to listen to Dancing with the Single Dad, Adam's story, the next book in the Series. #AudiobookObsession #PinkFlamingoProductions #TheFlock

Hired by the Single Dad

Hired by the Singe Dad is the first book in The Single Dads of Seattle series. This book is told from dual points of view from Dr Mark Herron and Tori Jones.

Both Mark and Tori have gone through divorces. Tori's is more recent. They meet at a bar, and Mark starts having feelings right away. He's never felt this way about a woman before. When he learns of her job, he offers her a job.

Mark is a single father to Gabe. He is a 5 year old whom has autism, and needs someone stable in his life to help him at school. Tori works with special needs children, and her and Gabe immediately have a bond.

Mark and Tori start having feelings for each other, and seeing each other. When something happens that threatens their relationship, can they work through it? What happens with Tori's ex comes back into the picture? I really like both character's growth in this book.

I also really enjoyed the narrators! They really brought the story to life. I haven't listened to a book by these narrators before, and I will defiantly listen to them again!

Great single Dad romance

Mark was attracted to Tori the minute his eyes landed on her when she was out with friends celebrating her separation from her cheating ex. She told him she worked with children with ASD and he told her his friend was looking for someone for his son but he lied and it was Mark who was looking for someone. The chemistry between them was there from the start and when they gave in to it sparks flew then things happened and Mark fired her saying some awful things to her. Can Tori forgive all the things he said to her in anger or will she tell him to get lost.

Hired by the Single Dad

What a perfect romance. Falling in love with your boss is definitely not what is supposed to happen but luckily the boss feels the same way. And when you add a child into the mix it just makes a perfect story to listen to. I loved all the characters in this book and the way it was written flowed beautifully.

Tori and Mark!

Tori’s cheating ex-husband has not only destroyed her happy ever after, but he has also put her professional dreams on hold as well. When her friends convince her to attend a girls night out she never expected that a fellow patron could give her hope for the future.

Mark has a painful past of his own when it comes to love and marriage and is now a single father to his son Gabe. When he finds out she wants to pursue a career in special education and he needs someone to help care for his son it seems like the perfect arrangement. Will they be able to deny the chemistry between them and overcome their pasts?

Mark and Tori take us on an emotional journey as they fight for a second chance at love and the secondary characters leave us wanting their stories as well. The performance of the narrators draw you in to the characters and the emotions they are feeling which only made this book that much better. 🎧The Flock

Relatable characters, great narration

This was the first book I've listened to by Whitley Cox, and I'm interested in listening to more. As a single parent who's been through a divorce, I was able to relate to many of the characters. It would have liked a little more humor to make it a solid 5. It was predictable, but still good. I also appreciated the inclusion of an autistic character.

Zachary Johnson was a new narrator for me. He and Allyson Voller did a great job and I would listen to them both again.

I thoroughly enjoyed Hired by The Single Dad

I was so taken with Hired By The Single Dad and enjoyed every moment of this excellent romance.

Single father, Dr Mark Herron overhears a group of ladies celebrating one of their divorces (or rather separations.) He cannot understand why one would celebrate getting divorced so when his curiosity gets the better of him he strikes up a conversation with the wonderful Tori. After speaking to her he realises that in spite of how drawn he is to her, she has the right qualifications and she would be idea to work with his son, who has autism.

I honestly adored Tori, Mark and his son Gabe. I appreciated the representation of autism and how Gabe was very much a child who happens to face the challenges of autism rather than it defining his character.

Of course, a great dad is absolutely swoon-worthy and Mark is a great dad, not to mention that he is a sexy, considerate Doctor too. Tori is such a sweet, considerate person and despite them both having been stung by their marriages, their draw to each other is smoking hot.

This audiobook really was the whole package. The immensely talented Allyson Voller and Zachary Johnson did an amazing job of bringing the story to life. Everything about their performance was spot on. All of the emotions and personalities came across in their performances.

I will definitely be listening to more books from this series.

Single Dad Romance

Hired by the Single Dad by Whitley Cox is a contemporary single dad romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Allyson Voller and Zachary Johnson. This is the first book in The Single Dads of Seattle series and can be read as a standalone.

The book comes with a note "This book can be read as a standalone. It includes lots of steamy scenes, cursing, and of course as with all my books, this has an HEA and no cliffhanger or cheating. If you like single dads who take charge, this book is for you."

This is the first book of Whitley's that I have read and it definitely won't be my last. I absolutely loved the relationship that bloomed between Mark and Tori. I really enjoyed getting both of their points of view throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.

Allyson and Zachary did an amazing job on the narration. They both really know how to bring a story to life. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.

I would highly recommend this book if you love single dad romances, sweet romances, or contemporary romance.

Really Cute Story

I was really enjoying this book and the characters in the book until a certain point in. I won't say where it was due to spoiler alerts. I really didn't care for a person's attitude and what they said when a certain thing happened. I felt it was way uncalled for. It made me very angry. I almost quit reading the book right there and then. I decided to keep going instead. Mainly because I loved that the other person stuck up for herself. It was an amazing thing to see. I am curious enough to read the rest of the series.
