Publisher's Summary

I'm a one-and-done kind of hellhound.... I don't catch feelings....

Once upon a time, my first and last relationship taught me that romantic love isn't enough to stop your boyfriend from trying to kill you. Been there, done that, got the T-shirt. My awesomeness is now strictly reserved for one-nighters and casual hookups.

Besides, things are heating up at the Community of Species Government, and I'm right in the thick of it all. Those bad guys are going down-and not in the good way. They might seem to have the drop on us right now, but we're going to turn the tables on them. Even if it means going on a mission with Aidan Byrne.

I'm still not happy about the way Aidan handled things with my bestest bestie a few months back, even if he did turn out to be right. Plus, there's something about him that rubs my fur in the wrong direction. He's the kind of guy who thinks karaoke is only for college kids and looks down on me for licking my own balls. He also thinks that just because he's the species leader, he's in charge.

Too bad for him, I've never backed away from a challenge...even if it is unnervingly sexy and really bendy. A hookup won't lead to feelings...right?

Funny and exciting!

Honestly, I thought Alistair would annoy me in this book, but he is more complex and deeper than it appeared from the first two books. This story is even more funny and I burst out laughing on several occasions. The dynamic between Alistair and Aiden is fun and surprising and the exciting storyline continues to develop in this book - bringing even more tension and thrills.
Joel Leslie's narration adds new layers to both the characters and the story - deepening the enjoyment. I barely stopped this book and was disappointed when it finished!

Fantastic addition to the series!

I’ve read this series a dozen times and it’s always fun and interesting. Hijinks focuses on our favorite hellhound, Alistair- genuinely, annoyingly lovable with a 5 year old’s emotional stability and attraction to fun. It delves deeper into the CCA, evil Dr. Trish’s plan to take over humanity, and formally introduces us to an elf. The book has a fairly complex plot that includes lots of questions that become answered the deeper into the book. Alistair’s budding relationship with species leader Aiden is interesting in the way it unfolds. I gave the story 4 stars because I feel that Aiden’s character was not presented in a way that the reader could understand him very well and it was difficult to connect with him emotionally. Joel Leslie…seriously…do I need to say more? He’s got the inflections, the timing, the emotional depth, and the unique accents. He vividly portrays the story- whether intense bedroom scenes or physically demanding action sequences. He had Alistair’s sulking down pat. For one man to portray ten or so people over three separate books- and I know exactly who is who just by hearing them- that takes incredible skill! KUDOS TO BOTH Masters and Leslie for an incredible and unique reading experience!

Alastair….

The big goofy, fun loving hellhound has a mission and he wants to pout because it’s with his species leader, you know the one that forced the shift on Sam… their trip takes them to the west coast where they found the stink of Tish and elves… there’s a knock on their door one night and who’s there but an elf. Good times, moving on to the next book.

an incredible twist!

I'm so excited by the transfer from Modern fantasy to high fantasy. It's really cool. Brilliant author and Joel Leslie never lets me down. my only problem is I feel like I don't get the full ending of the romance but I suppose that will come with the continuation of the series. I love this!

Enjoyable Story

The story premise is good and the characters are likeable. The narration was good too.
