Publisher's Summary

One day, she thought, one moment, one innocent game. How was it that day, that moment, that game never seemed to end?

Caitlyn Sullivan is just nine years old when a game of hide-and-seek at a family party will change her life forever.

The betrayal she experienced that night will shape Caitlyn's life - and for years she runs and runs, hiding from the aftermath of the trauma. But Caitlyn comes to realise that if she wants to not just survive but thrive, she must return to the family home to face up to her past.

What happened that night may always haunt Caitlyn, but she must decide if it's what you're running from that matters. Or who finds you.

A brilliant Story

I absolutely loved the performance, more than once I thought I was listening to multiple people. I am though starting to find that the endings finish abruptly without allowing the reader to feel like the story has been wrapped up properly. I have so many unanswered questions with this book.......other than that, it was a beautifully written book.

Boring

So very predictable and boring. Don’t know why I listened to the end. The narrator was very good. Shame about the story.

Loved it!

This was my first Nora Roberts book, but certainly not my last. Enjoyed the characters, storyline and most importantly the readers voice. Looking forward to listening to some of her back catalogue.

A formulaic Roberts

A boring whiny main character. Nothing interesting happens- A forgettable plot without the usual incredible imagery from Roberts. I won't read again, unlike many of her other books. Disappointing.

Fabulous

Nora Roberts’s was one writer I thought I would never enjoy. However this book changed my mind very quickly.... the story line kept me intrigued and I actually replayed some of the chapters so I didn’t miss any points. Enjoyed it from beginning and end. Looking forward to my next purchase.

Great read

As usual Nora Roberts write a enthralling story. I was captivated from the start and loved the characters. The story had a great flow that keeps you listening. Caitlyn and her family are amazing and just wrap her up after the kidnapping but her grit and determination helps her survive.

Good but not vintage

Quite a few echoes of earlier books. More predictable than many of her stories. Some good characters but I found it quite hard to engage with Cait.

I know this is going to be a great story but ....

I haven't been able to get past the first 2 chapters because the narration is horrible!!😱 just read it?! don't put on weird voices like someone trying to act out a bedtime story. I hate leaving bad reviews, probably the first time for me, so disappointed.

Review

Storytelling was exceptional and added depth to a good story but did feel the last chapter did lack some tension. However, overall was enjoy able.

not as good as some others

I have been collecting and reading Nora Roberts books for many years and am sorry to say this is not one of her best. I read it all in one go but just to see if it would get better. the story had no depth to it and was without substance . I will probably read it again sometime but only to see if it gets better second time around.
