About this listen

On the day we choose our wedding rings, my fiancé vanishes into thin air.

My fiancé brought me tea and scrambled eggs in bed that morning, and we snuggled together, talking about buying our rings, and about our perfect wedding next year.

Then we headed into town. He held my hand and gazed at the ring I liked best, a smile spreading slowly over his face. Then a glass of bubbly to celebrate. I felt flushed, excited and ready for the rest of my life with the man I loved.

We race to get on the train home. It screams to a halt and I run towards its open doors. Made it.

I think he’s right behind me — but when I turn around, he’s gone.

This was a really good story that sadly faded at the end. Right up until the last 2 chapters I was keen to keep reading. The end was disappointing

it felt a little depressing at times and the performance was very monolog although I suppose that is to be expected based on the story. but over all definitely worth listening to.

great story with a very unexpected but good ending

An interesting premise that kept me interested throughout this story .

What would you do if your fiancé just disappeared
?

One moment you are incredibly happy having just both purchased your rings for your upcoming wedding, then as you manage to make it to the train taking you home, he misses it,.
Left on the platform, the only image of him left imprinted on your mind.

As the time passes, and trains come and go, there is no sign of John.

Then , hours turn into days, turn into months, then a year has passed with no sightings.

For Evie, the struggle to understand the “why” of it all has been overwhelming.
There are concerned friends and family trying to help but it doesn’t ease the pain as her and John’s Wedding date draws near.

Also, Evie is struggling either way the strange miss placement of items in her and John’s flat.
Leading her to believe that maybe he is still around her ….
Perhaps suffering some kind of breakdown.

Matters are not helped though, by the fact that Evie finds out things about John.

Things he never told her about.

How ell did she really know her fiancé?

Interesting story that kept me engaged as I was dying to know what really happened to John, and who this mystery person known as “ The Black Rose” who lived to torment her was.

The only thing I didn’t like, and that sat uneasily either me, was …

The Ending

Suspenseful. Domestic Drama

The main character and how she felt was well explored - the other characters ( her friends) not so much.

Well written.

The story started well but the character Eve got quite annoying in the process. I think the author dragged the story of Eve far too much that the initial empathy dwindled. Very predictable but overall still a good story.

A good story ..,
