Great read

Good psychological thriller.

A young girl confesses to murder then clams up. FBI Agent, Lucy Thorne, doesn’t believe that she has the full story and heads to the small town to investigate. Somehow this case is related to one of her cold cases. Half truths, a closed-off religious community, another missing girl...and discovered human remains. No one wants to believe that a serial killer has been living in the small town but Lucy intends to get to the truth. The story starts off slowly but glad that I stuck with it! Worth the read/listen.

Haunting and Thrilling

This book keeps you guessing and keeps you on the edge throughout it. I love psychological thrillers and Brianna Labuskes’ thrillers are top notch! This book certainly got added to the list of my favorites!
There is an overwhelming sense of sadness that accompanies this book. Living in a cult warped the thinking and the lives of these people. A twisted tail FF or certain. The narrator, Karen Peakes did a terrific job also!

Wait....what?

The premise and overall idea of this story was great - but the execution of it was terrible. The way the author bounces back and forth between characters and timelines is too quick and often confusing. I’m not even entirely sure who the last words belonged to..

Excellent voice acting

The narration really made this book shine. Peaked is able to create clearly different characters which I've heard others struggle to do. Could tell each character solely by her acting. The story was a bit slow and consistently stays that way.

Magnificent Read

The ending was not what I expected. Does that make me an inadequate detective or the author an extraordinary writer? I'd say the latter. Looking forward to reading more books by Brianna Labuskes.

this book was slow to start didn't really keep my interest then I got a little interesting I was able to read it through but it wasn't one of my favorites
