In Pöcking am Starnberger See geht es meist recht gemütlich zu. Das heißt, wenn nicht gerade jemand den Mann im Hendlwagen mit dessen eigenen Grillspießen durchbohrt. Muck Halbritter, Schäfer und Lebenskünstler, rutscht in den Fall hinein, dabei arbeitet doch eigentlich seine Frau bei der Kripo. Musste der Hendlwickerl wegen dem Zeug sterben, das in den Billighühnern aus Tschechien steckte? Muck macht sich seine Gedanken und geht der Sache nach. Dabei hat er im Dorf auch so schon genug zu tun: Zum Beispiel die rüstigen Senioren vom Verein "Gemeinsam Dabeisein" mit dem Bus zum Einkaufen kutschieren. Die lieben Alten scheinen indessen mehr über die dunklen Seiten von Pöcking zu wissen, als sie verraten wollen...
