Publisher's Summary
Helmut Qualtinger (1928-1986) war schon während seiner Studentenzeit als Schauspieler tätig. Gemeinsam mit Bronner, Merz, Kreisler, Louise Martini und Qualtinger installierte er in den 50er Jahren jenes Kabarettereignis, das das Wiener Nachkriegskabarett am stärksten prägte - jene Truppe, die sich nie einen eigenen Namen gab, sondern immer unter dem jeweils aktuellen Programm auftrat: "Blatt’l vorm Mund", "Glas'l vorm Aug" und "Dach'l überm Kopf".
Nach Auflösung der Gruppe schrieb er gemeinsam mit Carl Merz die Texte für seine Auftritte und entwarf mit dem "Herrn Karl" eine Figur, die aus dem österreichischen Kabarett nicht wegzudenken ist, ebenso wie die "Travnicek"-Dialoge. Seine Lesungen aus Hitlers "Mein Kampf" oder Karl Kraus'.
