About this listen

Briggs,

Remember when we parted ways in Germany? It was the day I broke your heart. What you didn't know was that I was breaking mine too.

I thought they'd be enough - my husband and my son. That I'd get home and everything would go back to the way it was...before the war. Before the ambush. Before you. But, no matter how hard I try, I can't erase the trauma we shared. I can't seem to forget the way my heart beat in time with yours. The truth is, I'm lost without you.

I thought the nightmare was over when they pulled us from that hole in the ground, but nothing could have prepared me for the war I'd face at home.

I know it's selfish of me to ask, but, please, I have to see you one last time....

All my love,
Scottie

I DO NOT CRY.....
I cried 3 times 😭😭😭

This is raw, emotional, turbulent, gut wrenching and soul destroying, I found myself holding my breath in anticipation of what was coming.

This one won't be for everyone but if you're brave enough to read it you will not be disappointed.

There are multiple trigger warnings particularly in relation to military/combat in addition to others so make sure they you take heed.

Thank god for happy endings, this book hurt, made me gasp in pain, made me cry and laugh. New authors to me, and in parts I wanted to die right along with the characters, well done, I love it.

This book tackles many heavy subjects and navigates them all so amazingly. Yes, tears will flow and if you’ve read The Ravenhood series also by Kate Stewart you should expect all the feels in this book too.
This book will stay with me a long time. Narrators did an amazing job too and really bought an already brilliant story to life

So beautifully written

Heartbreak Warfare isn’t just a book—it’s an emotional experience. From the very first chapter, I knew I was about to be changed by this story. It’s raw, powerful, and unapologetically honest in its portrayal of love, trauma, and the devastating impact of war.

Heather M. Orgeron and Kate Stewart deliver a beautifully written narrative that explores not only what happens on the battlefield, but the wars that rage within. It’s heartbreakingly real, full of emotional depth, and hauntingly memorable.

The audiobook narration is outstanding. Tracy Marks and Aaron Shedlock give such authentic, emotionally resonant performances that I felt everything the characters felt. Their voices brought a deep realism and intensity to the story that made it even more immersive.

This story broke me in the best way. If you're looking for something that moves you, challenges you, and stays with you Heartbreak Warfare delivers. Keep your tissues close.
