Publisher's Summary

Award-winning author Jae’s newest lesbian novel is a medical romance with a few unexpected turns.

Dr. Hope Finlay loves her job as an emergency room physician, especially since it allows her only brief encounters with her patients. She learned early in life not to get attached to anyone because it never lasts.

Laleh Samadi, a waitress at her aunt’s restaurant, is the exact opposite. She easily connects with people and loves her big, boisterous Persian family, despite their tendency to meddle in her life.

When Laleh needs to be rushed to the ER with heart trouble, Hope saves her life. Afterwards, strange things begin to occur: Why does Laleh suddenly know even the most obscure diseases, while Hope is fluent in Farsi?

Soon, they can no longer deny that there’s a mysterious connection between them - one that becomes stronger with each passing day.

Are they losing their minds...or their hearts?

Loved this book

I've read every book that jae has written and this is my favorite. I love the way she weaves together the best of the Persian culture with that of the American culture. A very good read.

Some connections are magic, the heart is electric.

This story of Hope and Leleh gives new meaning to being connected. A bizzar event in the ER brings them together in a deep way. Their friendship starts when the Dr saves Leleh but together they save each other as they explore the empathic touch. I loved the deep way they could feel each other and break through the cultural barriers. The saucy, hot way they touch makes a great journey. Jae has given us a unique way to see a relationship with spectacular characters.

Doesn’t have the heart

I don’t know if it was the poor narrating or the seemingly uninspired written that turned me off from this book but it’s just a no go for me I can’t even finish it and I always finish book especially by this author it’s a pity

Jae never disappoints.

This was a great listen, story was excellent, it flows well and made sense even if inthe beginning I felt it was a little far fetched. Characters well developed, the plot was interesting.
Abigail Rakocy is a great narrator, even if the accent given to the Farsi members of the family was more Indian than Farsi...

I don’t like the switcharoo

I guess I like a little more realistic. This doesn’t ever happen in real life. The doc falling for waitress is not much of reality either.
