Publisher's Summary

New York Times best-selling author K. Bromberg is back with a new Kincade sister and a swoon-worthy football player in an all new stand-alone romance that will make you believe in first crushes and true love.

I’ve signed numerous players to my family’s agency - I assumed winning over my next client would be just as easy.

The last thing I expected was to run into the boy who took my first kiss and broke my heart: only now Drew Bowman is all grown up.

Sexy. Scandal-tainted. Second-string. The crush I never got over.

I tell myself work is the reason I can’t get him out of my head. I tell him his talent far outweighs his position, and I know I can help. I lie and lie, because admitting that I want a second chance at my first love is impossible.

Some lines cannot be crossed, and ours was drawn in the sand years ago.

***

I’m supposed to hate her.

I’ve been told so time and again for 10 years - her father ruined our family, smeared my name before my career even began.

But that’s not what I’m feeling now.

Brexton Kincade just strode out of my memories and onto my field.

Driven. Determined. Grown up. The Capulet to my Montague.

Being with her would be an unforgivable sin against my father, but I can’t resist the pull between us. Even if it means hiding what we have. Even if it means confronting the secrets I’ve always feared were lies.

Great Childhood Friends to Lovers Story

“I want to be his safe place. The place he can turn to when he needs solace from it all. The arms that will hold him when uncertainty owns him. The heart that will love him above all else.” Review: This is Book 3 in the Play Hard series. It focuses on Brexton, who is the 2nd oldest Kincade sister. Brexton is a sports agent working for her fathers agency. Drew is the New York Raptors 2nd string quarterback. Brexton and Drew's families grew up spending time together. Bratty Brex and Dreadful Drew. Brexton always had a crush on Drew, but it seemed to be one sided. Due to a fallout, their families severed ties, but no one really knows why. Years later they run into each other and there is a pull to each other. The same pull they felt as teenagers. They continue to run into each other as if the universe is trying to tell them something. But how can Drew be drawn again to the one woman in a family that destroyed his. Drew is amazing and absolute book boyfriend material. With a heart of gold caring for his family and doing what he can to help them. Brexton believes in Drew and sees his potential, unlike his own father seems to. These two were so perfect for each other. The chemistry, the sparks, second chances and hope. I absolutely loved their story. I love childhood friends to lovers, it's basically tied with my favorite trope. I love the update we got on Dekker and Hunter as well as Lennox and Rush. I just love seeing how their lives continue to evolve. I am excited for the youngest sister Chase in the next book! I listened to the audiobook by Joe Arden an Maxine Mitchell. They both did a great job and I really enjoyed it! Don't miss this one!

Fantastic!!!

My favorite in the series so far and I loved the other two. The romance was steamy and the story had a perfect balance with just the right amount of conflict. I adore the girls’ father. He’s such a good guy and their relationship with him melts my heart in each book.

Narrators were perfect for the characters. Their voices matched really well. Amazing job!

This story is everything I love about reading romance. And the narrators only enhanced the experience. I can’t wait for the next book to release.

Ending seemed rushed

I like this book and the characters but the ending seemed rush and left some unanswered questions. I would have loved to know how he faired with his football career and his parents. Speaking of his parents... boy were they selfish and horrible. Overall not as good as the others in this series, but still worth the listen.

ILY KB!

I absolutely loved Drew and Brexton’s story. This is book three in the series. It could be read as a stand-alone. There are interconnecting characters and there is follow up from the previous story couples.

Drew and Brexton are childhood friends to lovers. It’s a long and winding road to being together again. The angst is in a lost relationship between their families due to something secretive with Drew’s father. I will say I have not disliked a character as much as one of the side characters in this story. Not liking the character is a testament to the writing, the feels.

I listed to the audio version and loved the narrator performances by Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell.

Slow Pace

There were some okay moments throughout the book, yet nothing nerveshatting. akso, the suspense was prolonged to the extent that my curiosity projected much more. there were very sad moments but not to bring me to tears. personally, I thought he storynwas unfinished despite the fact there weren't plus chapter. did Drew's father, died? was there some type of reconciliation between the parents? the proposalnwas beautiful, yet the story was just as weak as Drew's dad, an unlikable character in my opinion

Second chance l💓ve?!?

I'd like to introduce you to...
Drew Bowman aka-Dreadful Drew
AND
Brexton Kincade aka-Bratty Brex
...childhood friends and each others secret crush when they were kids.

Drew and Braxton's parents were best of friends as these two were growing up. They were all so close they even vacationed together each year. That is, until something happened that drove an enormous wedge between the families. Then to top it off Braxton's mother lost her battle with terminal cancer and the Kincade family gathered together to support each other and time marched on.

Fast forward ten years to Braxton and her three sisters running a successful sports management agency with their dad.
Additionly, Drew has followed his dream to play in the National Football League as a Quarterback.

While Braxton is doing a little recruiting one day she finds the Quarterback practicing on the field after a game. Unbeknownst to her though it's not the first string QB that she's been recruiting that's practicing but the second string QB, who is non other then Drew Bowman. Her curiosity is peaked and she seeks him out to catch up. Little does she know the troubles the Bowman family has suffered through or where they've been through the years. There's just this undeniable connection that these two still feel for each other and now that they've reestablished a connection the pull is strong. There have been lies told though and enormous hurdles to get over. Will their second chance have a chance or will it be snuffed out by the lies? Grab a copy of this un-put-downable book and find out.

I loved the narration of this book. Maxine Mitchell and Joe Arden brought these characters to life. Great job you two! 💞

Childhood friends to Lovers

Brexton and Drew grew up together and their families were close, too, until something tore them apart. Now Brexton works in her family's sports representative business. Drew is a quarterback but hasn't played first string because of his father's scandal. When Brexton and Drew see each other years later, they still are drawn to each other. I liked how they were both working on trying not to be attracted because of their families, but they can't stop seeing each other. Will they be able to overcome the family feud? Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell are great at bringing Drew and Brexton to life for me.
