Publisher's Summary

At a boxing gym in Chicago, Mary Monahan accidentally knocks out the most handsome man she's ever met. After she wakes him up with a few slaps and some smelling salts, the very first thing he does is ask her out for ribs and beer. His name is Jimmy. He looks like a Gillette model. And he's just too hunky to resist.

Jimmy "The Falcon" Falconi is mystified that Mary has absolutely no idea who he is. Mystified and refreshed. He is, after all, not your everyday NFL quarterback. He shops at Costco, has a soft spot for Pinterest, and is in the midst of an epic losing streak.

Jimmy falls for Mary fast and hard, the way he does everything - balls out and like it's fourth and long. And he realizes he's finally met his match. That stamina he's so proud of? Doesn't stand a chance against her Kegels.

But what they don't know is she's also his new physical therapist, recently hired by the Bears to work on his rotator cuff...and groin injury. If she can't help him, he'll be traded faster than they can say "offensive penetration". Contains mature themes.

LOOOOVVVED!!!

“I want to love you so hard that it takes your breath away.” 5+ “Cool to shop at Costco” Stars!!!!! I absolutely ADORED this story! I fell so hard for Jimmy - he was PERFECTION wrapped up in a hot as sin body!!! I loved the way he pursued Mary and how he didn’t hide his feelings either; I loved how much he cared for his niece; I loved his sense of humour; I loved his dedication to his sport... I could go on forever! Let’s just say that If someone like Jimmy Falconi actually existed, I would be vying for his attention too!!! And Mary was such a cool heroine! Other than her minor freak out towards the end (which I could kinda understand), I loved her too!!

This was my first time reading a book by Nicola Rendell and I was immediately hooked on her addictive narrative! I loved that this was a perfect story with an equal balance between the romance, humour, sexiness and the sports. And there weren’t any immature or predictable bumps along the way like crazy exes, misunderstandings with female fans or running away when the feelings got real. These two characters owned up to their feelings early on and went with it!!! I can’t say enough of how much I LOVED everything about this book! Oh, I did listen on audiobook and the narrators were perfection!! I just LOOOVE Sean Crisden and he played Jimmy to the T!!! PERFECT!!!!!

Baller vs. Butterball (you'll see lol)

Listened to this one on Audible and really enjoyed the performances given by Sean Crisden and Jillian Macie. I laughed out loud so many times. The story was interesting sprinkled with a little emotional angst and a twist. Not to mention the down and dirty delivered by a sexy, sweet, Quarterback. Very light read/listen. Perfect companion for a rainy day doing chores. Made me feel like I had friends keeping me company. The kind of friends that always put a smile on your face and make you feel like you're getting away with something whenever you hang together. If you're looking to be entertained, this should hit the spot perfectly. I believe it's my favorite Sean Crisden narration to date!! Plain simple fun!!

Oh Jimmy you`re so fine.

Big fan of Nicole Rendell`s books so I was very excited to listen to her first audiobook.
Jillian Macie portrayed Mary perfectly for me, Sean has one of the loveliest, deepest and sexy voice`s I have heard in a while. If you want a love story with lots of deep and passionate moments, and let’s not forget smoking hot sex scenes look no further.

Overkill on the female narration of sex scenes

Every time she read a sex scene the female narrator would get all slow & husky with her voice. It was too much.

Excellent with one exception

Fun book that keeps your attention. Fun little twists along the way. Only thing bad about it is the numerous times that the word goddamn is used. Very disappointing:(

Hail Mary! Yes!

I laughed and cried. And laughed some more. This story has a good balance. Realistic characters that will have you cheering and wanting to slap sense into them. My heart had a workout. Wishing there were more books. I must confess, I purchased this audible because it was on sale! If I had known how good it was, I would have paid full price!
The narrators were very entertaining. Sean Crisden was fantastic. Will look for more of his work. Loved it! Thank you Nicola Rendell!

So close to a 5 ⭐️!

This book was sooo good and would have received a perfect rating but, it just fell a little short. My reasons are as follows.....

1) the ending was too abrupt and the conflict resolutions are executed in a too short and vague epilogue.
2) The narration fell short because, although both narrators are extremely talented, their voices performed as the Hero are so different, it’s like two different characters. If the producers/author or whoever would have chosen to have a true Duet narration, it would have been epic. For those who don’t know, Duet narration is when the narrators perform specific characters during the entire novel; like picking characters to read a play. This performance had one or the other narrators performing the entire chapter based on who’s POV the chapter is written from.
2) Oh how I wish the author would have extended the book, several hours, to allow the reader/listener to experience the plot resolutions instead of being told about them in a few sentences.
3) if The extension of the book would have included the game by game completion of the football season. This would be most important for listeners, like me, that are big fans of the game of football.
4) if The conclusion of the book would have included a detailed resolution of Jimmy’s brother’s situation. (It’s left unexplained)
5) if The story would have included a confrontation between Jimmy and/or Mary and her emotional abusive ex boyfriend.

The rest of the book was so sweet, funny and enlightening, without excessive angst. I loved it! Even with my perceived short comings, this book is credit worthy but, the icing on the cake is that it was included in the Romance/Escape Package, and I’ll be able to spend my monthly credits on two additional books. Although, I may actually spend on of credits, on this book, to make it part of my permanent library. I enjoyed the book that much and so I know that a relisten will be in order.

HAWT!

This was sooo funny, spontaneous barks of laughter are guaranteed so maybe don’t listen to this in a public place where people might think you are loony. Mostly, this was soooo HAWT! that again you may not want to listen to this where strangers might see you blush, or become breathy, or neeedy (spelling mistake on purpose), and you might melt into your seat. Make sure the audio cannot be heard by others, just to spare them the embarrassment of envy… It is soooo gooood.

The narrators of the audible version of this book made it come ALIVE! My hat goes off to narrator Jillian Macie who made Mary such a likeable, admirable heroine; and OMG to narrator Sean Crisden who as the voice of Jimmy seduced Mary (and ME!!!) with his ahhmazing voice characterisation through the alpha moments, the vulnerable moments, the tender ones and the incredible erotic moments. Hatchiwawa! Of course, thanks go to the author first of all.

I thoroughly enjoyed the audible experience of this book. At first it took me a while to get used to the voices, especially the voice of Jimmy, but I adjusted and then loved him. This is despite the fact that he has sex on the brain and uses the F word as a noun, adjective, verb, adverb, exclamation… you get the idea. So if you can’t handle coarse language, a lot of vanilla sex with a dash of kink, then this book is not for you. If you can handle what I mention, you will really have fun and a blazing vicarious intimate experience. It’s not all about sex though, there is a lot of heart and I was very satisfied with the happy ever after in this story.

P.S. I learned so much about American football without being force-fed the information. I felt I was at the stadium in the crowd, on the field and the locker rooms. I imagine romance lovers with a love of football will find this book a treat. Funny cover, eh?

Long but Worth it

I found this book to be a bit long. The story kept my attention despite it's length. It was so cute that Mary didn't know who Jimmy really was. It was cute that the first thing she does is knock him out. Love a strong woman. The narrators did an excellent job with the story, personalities and characters.

5 Hail Mary Stars

This is one of my favourite books to read and it was absolutely superb in Audio. Sean Crisden as Jimmy is totally swoonworthy. His voice gives me goose bumps. Jillian Macie definitely delivers too. This sports themed, passionate, funny and beautiful book is so lovely. Highly recommend.
