Publisher's Summary

How do you define yourself when others have already decided who you are?

Six years ago, when Camden Daniels came back from war without his younger brother, no one in the small town of Alba, Colorado, would forgive him - especially his father. He left, swearing never to return.

But a desperate message from his father brings it all back. The betrayal. The pain. And the need to go home again.

But home is where the one person he still loves is waiting. Willow. The one woman he can never have. Because there are secrets buried in Alba that are best left in the dark.

If only he could tell his heart to stay locked away when she whispers she's always loved him, and always will...

Depressing story

I was half way into the story when I wrote the review and the story got more and more depressed. I listened to romance stories because I wanted to escape from life for just a little while. This story didn’t feel that way. Both narrators are my favorite readers and the reason I chose this story. That said, don’t choose stories based on the readers. If you do, you maybe disappointed.

Realistic and heartwarming

Rebecca Yarros doesn't disappoint with her awesome storytelling! The love between Camden and Willow was so strong that it held true even after big misunderstandings, heartbreaking loss, and many years apart. It was heartwarming to see how he stood by his father even when he wasn't wanted and while being mistreated by everyone. Having taken care of a family member with Alzheimers, I can honestly say that this story felt very real. All the issues that arise, all the frustration for the person going through it, but also all the pain of the family were very accurate. Narration was great! I love Carly Robbins and while it was my first time listening to Eric Michael Summerer, I can say that I'm now a fan. Great job!
