About this listen

Penguin presents the unabridged downloadable, audiobook edition of #Girlboss by Sophia Amoruso, read by Sarah Jes Austell. The first thing Sophia Amoruso sold online wasn't fashion. It was a stolen book. At age 17 she was a dumpster-diving, shoplifting anarchist. By 29 she was the founder and CEO of Nasty Gal, a $100 million-plus fashion empire.

Filled with brazen wake-up calls ("You are not a special snowflake"), frank observations ("Failure is your invention"), and behind-the-scenes stories from Nasty Gal's meteoric rise, #Girlboss is more than just Amoruso's story; it is a book for anyone seeking a unique path to success - even when that path is winding as all hell and lined with naysayers.

Overall, I think it was a good and easy listen. The voice acting was great as it felt like a friend was just sharing her life stories. However, the content was often predictable with a plethora of sometimes trying-hard quotables. However, I do suggest this for young girls in their uni years, trying to navigate through the business world.

Sometimes interesting & sometimes typical

I related so much to this book and I'll defiantly always remember it and no doubt always re-listen to it. I'm a 16 year old girl and I don't read books, but as my first book (wish my mum brought me) I absolutely loved it!!!
