Bad Reader can ruin a good book!

The story was about 2 people a romance & their differing views about life It was a fantasy as one individual was supposed to be able to do psychometry (the ability to discover facts about an event or person by touching inanimate objects associated with them). It was a really great read when it was published and I also have the books on tape version. I was thrilled to know that Tantor had someone do an audiobook to download. The reader put no heart, interest, no feeling or inflection in the voices and in the discussions of the conversations between the individuals. I loved the story and he made it absolutely BORING!! Gosh, I hated this. It was so bad that I purchased software and transferred my tapes to iTunes. Great. I hate it when a reader RUINS a book and he did it for me. I am sorry for this as it had been a good story.no one will want to listen. As I didn't and could barely finish it.

disapointing

the performance is so bad and off putting. he may be fine for a noir or sci fi but cannot do women and completely missed the rthym and tone. cringe worthy i couldn't judge the rest it was so bad.

Reader

The reader sounds like the voice of Frosty the snowman. Very thTough listening to his voice in the intimate scenes. I felt as if I was listening to an old man raping a 27 year-old. could not finish listening to the book

Wrong voice for this book

Did not like the dynamic between the the couple. Man too domineering. The narrator’s voice was hard to listen to.

Can't listen, the narrative is almost monotone..

Omigoodness, I've tried, tried, TRIED to listen to this.
But I cannot get past the narrators tone.
Really makes me sad. I literally have tried several times and my mind wanders immediately.
I even skipped ahead to try and get past the first few minutes, then skipped a chapter. I can't do. Totally bummed I wasted almost $20 on this.

where are the dust bunnies?

liked the book but not as much as the dust bunny books. no cuteness, or lightness.
