Publisher's Summary
Both an ancient, "found" wisdom text and a sumptuous, epic novel, Gaia Codex reveals the hidden histories of a world long forgotten, the secret wisdom of an ancient lineage of women, the Priestesses of Astera. Set in a near future of impending societal and environmental collapse, the novel is a tale of hope and remembrance, as well as an inspired vision of humanity's origins and of the potential we hold for conscious evolution. With growing numbers of international readers, Gaia Codex is a flourishing phenomena that is capturing the passionate Spirit of the Feminine Rising and our deepening reconnection to our Mother Earth.
The Story...
Lila Sophia had heard the whispered tales, stories of an ancient lineage of women, the Priestesses of Astera, who through the rise and fall of civilizations have protected codes of cultural and planetary rejuvenation, the Secrets to Life. Although these women have lived in every culture, few have known of their existence-until now. Born onto a planet in the throes of environmental and social crises, Lila's life implodes when her mother, Dominique, suddenly dies, and Lila is left with a mysterious illuminated manuscript that reveals that Lila is both a priestess and a genetic experiment called the Metamorphosis Project, a fusion of alchemy and magic designed to rebalance humanity's relationship with the Mother Earth. In search of her sister-priestesses and further understanding of her origins, Lila journeys from the mythic countryside of Glastonbury to Delphi, to an ancient hidden temple in the center of Paris, and finally, into the heart of the Amazon jungle. On her quest, Lila learns how to use her mutation to benefit Life. She also must decide between two passionate loves: a wise and beautiful sister-priestess, Rhea, and a mysterious man Theo, who has been waiting for her for millennia. Explore More: GaiaCodex.com

Story that I might love, but for the narration
This is a complicated review to write because there are so many aspects of this book that I could have, should have, and would have loved. Everything about the topic, the story, and the symbolism is totally in line with my interests. The fact that it's essentially a witchy/goddess book but also a novel is so cool. This book could have been so amazing.
But....I was thoroughly baffled by the terrible narration. The best way I can describe the narration is....bizarre. The voice was breathy, childlike, whispery, inconsistent, and filled with blatant mispronunciations of words. Normally I prefer when a book is read by its author. But in this case, it simply did not work. In fact, the performance had such odd pacing and strange pauses that it seemed like it was read by someone unfamiliar with the text. The mispronunciations and bizarre tone had me continuously shocked and confused. It was so distracting.
Again, I feel badly insulting the tone of voice of the author, a person who wrote what was probably a great book. But it is my honest opinion that the audio performance greatly detracted from the quality of the text. Audiobooks are my go-to method of reading these days, but in this case, I wish I had purchased the hard copy and not the audio version. The performance did a huge disservice to the book.

good story just very poorly written and performed
I l loved the story line I just really struggled to finish this book due to the fact that the narrator's voice was very very monotone. there were parts that sounded like she was performing erotica.

This book was a disappointment
Maybe it was written for a tween who has a light curiosity about Goddess Culture, that’s fine, not for me, I’m an Old Crone and thought I might be entertained by this story, not so much. Wish I could get my book credit back😐

Listened to by a man.
I still don't fully know what prompted me to buy this audio book.. But I do know that I now have a lasting and deeper love and respect for my wife! I know her natrual ability to become aware of her connection to the sisters of estera will continue to grow inside her and how she will start to realize her true destiny on this earth, in this form of existence and plain of consciousness. We're all connected and are one. I have sincere and deep gratitude for the words written here and will now be more aware of my goals and become more aligned with the continued support of our great Mother Earth.
This book was narrated very well and I listened to it non-stop until finished.

Good
The story seems more for a young woman reader. One early character's name is only the often repeated "Old Woman." Really?! I was hoping to see the main female character not go down the path of a fairytale traditional love story: meet man of dreams, be swept off feet, procreate. The planetary crisis and ancient-future science gaia codex concept and shapeshifting aspects were intriguing and I had great interest in the book. But the end chapters and final plot scenes were a dud to me.

Superb emotive narration of The New Earth Reality
I was spell bound from start to finish and listened over and over always picking up new nuances and delving deeper into the rich subtext of Universal Truths of how to choose to experience life through the eyes of Love in the ever changing landscapes of the transitioning New Earth. Pure Gold!

Beautiful!
So beautifully written and read. I travelled to lands far away and met the most incredible people along the way. When I heard the words "the end" I was gutted...I really hope there will be a part 2. We need to get to know Theo and baby like we have Sophia...mesmerising!

Hooked From Start To Finish
A thoroughly enjoyable read. An epic ‘story’ of a lineage of women, sisters from around the world and across the decades. Teachers, healers, Gaia warriors. Sumptuously written, at times emotional felt like I was really there. Best book I’ve read this year.
