Kay. So that’s a lot of monsters 🤣🤣 I’m convinced Cora (FMC) started singing “gotta catch em all, Pokémon!” while running around banging all these critters! But like in the best way this was so good, it is what it is but it was really good.

I don’t mind spice in my books… but the story quickly devolves into excuses to fit xxx into every chapter. The world building and story line itself is super novel and interesting. But the level of logic established initially quickly evaporates and you end up wondering why they’re going at it as often when supposedly the FMC is in high mortal danger. Heroine’s willingness to get down with the monsters goes from 0 to 100 at breakneck speeds, enough to have given me mental whiplash.
Book had potential but I couldn’t bring myself to finish it…
Ps- Brooke and Troy are faultless as usual :)

I loved it, monster love is one of my fav trope. a very entertaining fantasy and read brilliant by Brooke Daniels and Troy Duran, you guys are terrific together.

Wasn't quire prepared for the large amount of graphically detailled monster sex in this novel. Not exactly the kind of audio book you want playing in your car! The story is great. Narration is great. I just felt that the previews should warn about the extremely explicit sex scenes. I can't help but feel that the author sold out. This book will sell because of the sex...I think Tolkien would roll over in his grave if he heard it.

I really enjoyed the story right up to where the FMC blamed her abused and beaten mother for not protecting her from the father.

As author’s you have a responsibility to provide safety to your readers; you missed the opportunity to do that with this book.

I am a survivor of domestic violence, I work with victims of domestic violence.

I was disappointed by the author’s lack of empathy to the FMC’s mother who was beaten and most probably suffered other abuses at the hands of her husband. To have the FMC blame and offering no forgiveness to her mother for not saving her as a child, when her own mother was abused wife was an appalling.

The mother had no power in a world that beat women down and offered them no freedom. To expect her to have the fight to protect her children when she couldn’t protect herself was short sighted and uneducated.

Please educate yourself on family domestic violence and do better with writing victims of FDV.

I made it to chapter 8 before I couldn't handle the name of the MMC anymore. This one's just not for me unfortunately.
