Publisher's Summary

The first book in a thrilling fantasy trilogy starring one of the animal kingdom's most hunted heroes. Foxcraft is full of excitement and heart and a touch of magic.

Isla and her brother are two young foxes living just outside the lands of the furless - humans. The life of a fox is filled with dangers, but Isla has begun to learn mysterious skills meant to help her survive. Then the unthinkable happens. Returning to her den, Isla finds it set ablaze and surrounded by strange foxes, and her family is nowhere in sight. Forced to flee, she escapes into the cold, gray world of the furless.

Now Isla must navigate this bewildering and deadly terrain, all while being hunted by a ruthless enemy. In order to survive, she will need to master the ancient arts of her kind - magical gifts of cunning known only to foxes. She must unravel the secrets of foxcraft.

Couldn't get past the voice

What did you like best about Foxcraft #1? What did you like least?

I couldn't get very far but it seemed well written from what I did hear.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

I was not able to get into the story, so I do not much know.

What didn’t you like about Stephanie Drake’s performance?

Too sugary sweet and high pitched, could not get into the story because of that. She read well and had good pacing but I couldn't stomach it.

Was Foxcraft #1 worth the listening time?

Unsure as I did not get very far.

I'm so excited to see the second book, but it doesn't even have the same time as well just a few days to see the new book.

I love the book but my favourite part is when the wolf in the cage try's to bit the Cubs arm off

AMAZING!!!!!

This book was amazing! There's very little violence, just one death of four and they don't describe it. I cannot wait for the next book! I hope you like this just as much as I do! 😝

Enjoyable

A nice easy listening story for winding down before bed.
As a 40 something adult I enjoyed this YA story. The plot line has just enough little twists and turns to keep it interesting without being overwhelming.
The narration is excellent. That being said, I'd love to hear this story done by an adult narrator such as the lady who did the Cinder stories because she is a bit older therefore able to satisfy adults as well as YAs.
Overall I throughly enjoyed The Taken and highly recommend it.
I'm just starting on Book Two The Elders.
