Publisher's Summary

Enter the brutal and elite world of a war college for dragon riders from New York Times bestselling author Rebecca Yarros

Twenty-year-old Violet Sorrengail was supposed to enter the Scribe Quadrant, living a quiet life among books and history. Now, the commanding general—also known as her tough-as-talons mother—has ordered Violet to join the hundreds of candidates striving to become the elite of Navarre: dragon riders.

But when you’re smaller than everyone else and your body is brittle, death is only a heartbeat away...because dragons don’t bond to “fragile” humans. They incinerate them.

With fewer dragons willing to bond than cadets, most would kill Violet to better their own chances of success. The rest would kill her just for being her mother’s daughter—like Xaden Riorson, the most powerful and ruthless wingleader in the Riders Quadrant.

She’ll need every edge her wits can give her just to see the next sunrise.

Yet, with every day that passes, the war outside grows more deadly, the kingdom's protective wards are failing, and the death toll continues to rise. Even worse, Violet begins to suspect leadership is hiding a terrible secret.

Friends, enemies, lovers. Everyone at Basgiath War College has an agenda—because once you enter, there are only two ways out: graduate or die.

Adapted from the novel and produced with a full cast of actors, immersive sound effects and cinematic music!

Excellent

This is the best way to listen to a story of this magnitude. Both parts 1 & 2 were amazing, with the cast and sound effects elevating an already brilliant story.

Please do Iron Flame as a Graphic Audio.

Great Story, lacking performance.

I’m a massive Empyrean Series and Graphic Audio fan but wasn’t very impressed with this version. The way some of the words/names were pronounced are off. People’s expressions and way of speaking were different to the book, eg. in the book a character may shout something but they just casually say it in this, may seem trivial to mention but it happens too regularly. I think you’d enjoy it though if you hadn’t read the book or listened to the normal audiobook.

My fave

Part 2 was performed so much better than part 1. The voice actor for Xaden changed his tone, and the new actor for Tairn was a great upgrade.

This book has changed my life and allowed me to love a new genre of books!

I loved this version of the book! I started off with the normal audiobook then realized there was the graphic audio dramatized version. It’s so awesome! The sound effects can be too loud over the voices but it still blows the regular audio book out of the water! I now love dragons, and also can’t wait to read more romantasy books!

Best narration ever...a movie in your mind is correct

This was the best book by far I've listened to. the way it is narrated is literally a movie in your mind. everything you read is captured by these narrators. I wish every book was like this. I loved that when I read the book and then came back to listening to it I didn't feel like I had to get used to how it was narrated, there was energy it wasn't just someone reading the words it was portrayed how I would in my mind it made me excited it made me cry all the feels. I would listen to this again and again.

should be rated X.. not appropriate for most readers.

this was just a book about lust and sex.. no adventure or imagination. not good. couldn't even finish the book. very disappointing.

Overall Good, But Serious Edits Needed to be Made

The voice actors were good overall. However, whoever did the editing made several errors. Moments where Violet and Xaden are telepathically speaking to each other didn’t have the effects to let the audience know that’s how they were communicating. And there was a part in Ch 31 where Liam is the one speaking to violet but it’s Xaden’s voice actor who is speaking.

Love it!

Okay, first of all—I am SO happy that they taught the female actress portraying Violet that she was pronouncing “macabre” wrong. She pronounces it correctly here. Amongst other words.
Plus, the music in here behind the story is so awesome! I love it!
The intensity that is blossoming between Xaden and Violet is palpable and amazing to hear. They do it very well!

GraphicAudio narration Far Above OG audiobook

This book and storyline is amazing….I originally purchased the original audible version and just couldn’t get into the story because I really disliked the female narrator. This version breathed realistic life into the story and made it so intense and enjoyable. Now I am sad because I have to wait until the GraphicAudio version of Iron Flame comes out because I just cannot listen to this series any other way now!

Not my thing

To me it feels like a worse version of ACOTAR, there are sooo many parallels between the two(tall, rebellious, dark-haired, shadow-controlling, tatted-up, male love interest for example) However, all my friends who didn’t like ACOTAR really liked this book. I personally found it super predictable and found all the characters unlikable and uninteresting. I found myself rolling my eyes at the romance(although i think i would have loved it if i were 18 not 25). It was a fun story to listen to and i will probably read the sequel but only so i can give a well informed critique of the series

Enjoyable, Emotive, and Explosive!💥

Fourth Wing (Part 2 of 2)
(Dramatized Adaptation)
By: Rebecca Yarros
Narrated by a full cast: Robb Moreira, Megan Poppy, James Konicek, Khaya Fraites, Gabriel Michael, LaMont Ridgell, Taylor Coan, Torian Brackett, Rob McFadyen, Laura C. Harris, Jessica Lauren Ball
Length: 9 hrs and 22 mins

I didnt connect with this half of the dramatized version as I did the first half. I was really quite shocked by this, as its the most emotive content of the book!🤷🏻‍♀️ It all felt a bit contrived, too 'acted', if that makes sense? So I couldnt lose myself in the story how I would expect to.😢 I also really did miss the epitaphs at the start of each chapter.

I don't think i'll continue to purchase the remainder of the series in this style of audiobook, unfortunately! I think its extremely clever and will absolutely be a lot of peoples ideal way of listening - its just not mine, sorry!😔
