About this listen

Meet Forrest Gump, the lovable, hurculean, and surprisingly savy hero of this remarkable comic odyssey. After accidentally becoming the star of Univerity of Alabama's football team, Forrest goes on to become a Vietnam War hero, a worl-class Ping-Pong player, a villainous wrestler, and a business tycoon -- as he wonders with cildlike wisdome at the insanity all around him. In between misadentures, he manages to compare battle scars with Lyndon Johnson, discover the truth about Richard Nixon, and survive the ups and downs of remaining true to his only love, Jenny, on an extraordinary journey through three decades of the American cultural landscape. Forrest gump has one heck of a story to tell -- and you've got to read it to believe it... Genre Fiction Historical Fiction Literary Fiction Literature & Fiction

I absolutely love the movie and I started using audible because I hate reading. So I decided to start with books of the movies I love. All I can say is that I’m glad that I fell in love with the movie first before reading the book. I get that it’s loosely based on the book but it is so crazy different. The reader telling the story did a magnificent job. But the book just got more and more outrageous over time that it was just a bit much for me.

Nothing like the movie.

Screenplay although a stretch from reality was a lovely story. This is so ridiculous , the unrealistic story with tales of apes in space, liaisons with Racquel Welch walking naked down Santa Monica freeway and Forrest being superhuman in every aspect of life. Persevered but it was dreadful…. Will never watch the movie in the same way!

Dreadful!
