Bogen består af 10 kapitler, som blev fundet efter Pagnols død og udgivet samlet under titlen Forelskelsernes tid. Bogen er mere heterogen end de tidligere erindringsbind. Gennem humoristiske historier om venskab og skole fortæller Pagnol om livet på gymnasieskolen Thiers de Maseille. Ungdomsårene er også tidspunktet for de første forelskelser, petanquekonkurrencer med faren og landsbyens naboer. I et enkelt kapitel lidt afvigende kapitel skildrer Pagnol også pesten i Marseille i 1720.
Forelskelsernes tid udkom posthumt i 1977 og kan læses uafhængigt af de tidligere bind.
