Publisher's Summary

The nation as we know it is a thing of the past. With the male species on the verge of extinction, a society called the End Men is formed to save the world. Folsom Donahue is one of 12 men whose sole purpose is to repopulate the Regions. The endless days spent having sex with strangers leaves Folsom with an emptiness no amount of women, money, or status can fill.

Until Gwen.

Gwen has wanted a child for as long as she can remember, but when she finally gets a chance to have her own, she uncovers a long-hidden truth. The injustice she sees moves her to help save the men whom no one else believes need saving.

A forbidden love, grown in a time of despair, ignites a revolution. Folsom and Gwen, torn between their love for each other and their sense of duty, must make a choice. But some will stop at nothing to destroy them.

Loved this book

The future has been reimagined in this amazing book, and men are on the verge of becoming extinct. The few who are left are virtually slaves, their role in society to produce children. It’s unthinkable for romance to exist in this world. But the moment Gwen and Folsom meet is the beginning of not only a love story, but a rebellion. Full of intrigue, courage and questions this book was hard to put down. Not to mention the romance. Serious sparks! The narrators are awesome and add an extra dimension to this book. I loved it. Highly recommend.

Holy $hit! What did I just do??

I made the HUGE mistake of starting a series before it’s been completely written. I should have done more research; I stupidly thought the series concluded with book two. Um, wrong. And as those last few gut-wrenching minutes of Folsom were playing, I was chewing my nails with one hand while frantically downloading Jackal with the other hand and simultaneously freaking out because it had become clear that there is no way this series get wrapped up with just one more book. [Does that run-on sentence give you a hint about my current manic state?] Enter self-pity as I realize that I am about to binge listen to Jackal and then I will have to WAIT, just like every other chump who started a series before the final book was written, begging for scraps as we anxiously await the next book in the series. It is going to suck! I am already so invested in these characters that I will not be able to wait graciously for the next installment. Worth a credit? Hell yes! This story hooked me within the first five minutes and I stayed up all night listening (the level of caffeine currently coursing through my system may have something to do with the run-on sentences and general tone of crazy in this review). The story was well-paced, the characters well-developed, and the narration was on-point. Hours later, I am still one giant ball of tension from those last few minutes of the book. Without any spoilers, I will just say that I wanted to climb through my phone to strangle some folks. Prepare yourself. Do not even question it; you should definitely listen this book. But, if you are like me (terrible at that whole “patiently” waiting thing), you might want to consider waiting until the complete series has been released before you start listening. Otherwise, you too, might end up wheels-off while writing your review. You have been warned.

Surprisingly Good!

I wasn't too into the synopsis, but I gave it a shot due to the ratings and reviews. I'm glad I did because it was better than I expected. The character development and world building were on point and the readers were fantastic. Dear reader, I'll see you at book two.

What a surprisingly great book

I thought this would be a really fluffy and light sexy tale, but it turned into a dystopian romantic thriller. I am now on to read Book Two: Jackal!

I just don't know

Folsum interested me enough to wanna know how it ended but not enough to tackle a part 2. The sex was vividly detailed but that's where the detail and imagery stop. Could have done so much with the storyline. overall it was just ok.

Hollow...

Original story but the narrators did it no justice. They are not bringing the story to life; they are just reading it. Very boring and easy to zone out.

Riveting

The two authors of this book are great on their own, but together they're explosive. I finished in one day and I'm running to read the next one.
