Publisher's Summary

An all-new stand-alone from New York Times best-selling author Julia Kent

It all started with the wrong Help Wanted ad. Of course it did.

I'm a professional fluffer. It's not what you think. I stage homes for a living. Real estate agents love me, and my work stands on its own merits.

Sigh. Get your mind out of the gutter. Go ahead. Laugh. I'll wait.

See? That's the problem. My career has used the term "fluffer" for decades. I didn't even know there was a more...lascivious definition of the term.

Until it was too late.

The ad for a "professional fluffer" on Craigslist seemed like divine intervention. My last unemployment check was in the bank. I was desperate. Rent was due. The ad said cash paid at the end of the day. The perfect job!

Staging homes means showing your best angle. The same principle applies in making a certain kind of movie. Turns out a "fluffer" doesn't arrange decorative pillows on a couch.

They arrange other soft, round-ish objects.

The job isn't hard. Er, I mean, it is - it's about being hard. Or, well...helping other people to be hard.

Oh, man....

And that's the other problem. A man. No, not one of the stars on the movie set. Will Lotham - my high school crush. The owner of the house where we're filming. Illegally. In a vacation rental.

By the time the cops show up, what I thought was just a great house staging gig turned into a nightmare involving pictures of me with an undressed star, Will rescuing me from an arrest, and a humiliating lesson in my own naivete.

My job turned out to be so much harder than I expected. But you know what's easier than I ever imagined?

Having all my dreams come true.

Fluffy is a full-length novel and is a stand-alone romantic comedy from New York Times best-selling author Julia Kent.

Brilliant

Talk about laugh out loud. I just couldn’t get to the end of this book soon enough only to begin again from the start. What a brilliant author Julia Kent is. Erin Mallon, the narrator, really captures the character of Fluffy just as I imagine that Julia intended. Sexy, hilarious and a great story. Well done.

Terrible ending

I should make a note of the narrator so I never download a book read by her again.
The book was OK at best and the ending was abrupt. The last chapter should have been edited out completely.

Fun and entertaining!

What an entertaining story! I admit, I was just as naïve as Mallory — as I didn’t know what a Fluffer was either, and boy did I have a LAUGH as I discovered the meaning through her experience. OH my!! The whole opening scene sets the stage for this hilarious tale. Mallory becomes reunited with her high school crush and through a series of embarrassing moments, witty banter and misconceptions revealed, Mallory gets the happily ever after that she always daydreamed about. The supporting cast of characters are such a hoot, adding to the comedic fun and in turn, we’ll hopefully soon discover their stories as well. Erin Mallon was THE perfect choice as narrator. She brought such life to these characters and story, elevating it to a whole other level of funny!

Loved it!

I love when I can really identify with the main character in a book. Mallory is the nerdy awkward girl who is just a magnet for disaster. Until... This book made me laugh, cringe, and sigh, then laugh some more. The narration was perfect.

Love the story, but...

I love the story but the reader sounds as if she is running out of breath.

Nostalgic Fun

My first Julia Kent adventure is going to turn into a binge of all of her books. She's got a unique and hilarious voice. I cannot wait to see what else she's got in store for her readers.

I laughed so hard at this book. Mallory is hilariously naive. I wish there was times for Will's POV.

Lovely romance

Fluffy is that. Fluffy. I adore Erin Mallon and she was awesome. The story about wrong place, but maybe the right time. A second chance that didn’t actually have a first chance, but the feelings did. The misunderstandings and how people believe what they want without taking the people into consideration. Yes, it might sound a little much, but Julia Kent handled these characters with a kind of authenticity I didn’t expect. A sweetness and also a touch of rawness.

The attraction is lovely. It’s forward, but reserved. The book isn’t steamy, it focuses on the heroine and the people in a way that isn’t too much.

And I love that fluffy and fluffer takes on several meanings. A very good book for me.

Really?

I am wondering if the other reviewers were talking about the same book. Yes, the premise is hilarious. Yes, the narrator is great. But this character is terrible. I can’t see this couple as believable. She’s an idiot and he’s just too much fantasy. Him wanting to be with her makes me question his intelligence.

When Fantasy and Reality Collide

I love this sweet yet funny love story. Fluffy is full of fun antics, witty banter and hot romance. I love Mallory and Will. Their story is what dreams are made of. Their characters are very likable and relatable. I highly recommend this book. Erin Mallon is the perfect voice for not only Mallory but for Will also. She is an amazing performer and did a super job bringing this story to life.

Fluffy

After listening to the intro Little Miss Perfect I was prepared for Fluffy not to be as funny as the intro since often times the funnier parts are highlighted in blurbs and such instead of throughout the book itself. I was so wrong this book was hilarious, I was listening at work and had to leave my desk and the office more than once because I couldn’t stop shaking from laughter. Such a fun and quirky read with quite a few misunderstandings throughout that make it so much funnier.

Erin Mallon is one of my favorite narrators with perfect timing and delivery.

Completely Delightful

This story was completely delightful! Erin Mallon does an exceptional job telling the story of Malory and Will. I inappropriately laughed multiple times when reading, to the point where my husband was giving me weird looks. The absurd situations that Malory finds herself in are cringeworthy but you can't stop listening. I had heard wonderful things about this book and they were all true. This is a must read when you are in the mood for a good laugh! This book was reviewed by a #audiobookobsessionreviewer

Excellent narrator, funny book full of heart

Erin Mallon is one of my favorite narrators. She has this deadpan comedic genius that I absolutely love for this book.

This is a book with really fun characters. There were some laugh out loud sections and other sections where I shook my head, wishing that Mallory, the heroine, would get over her high school anxieties. Will is a sweetheart and a great hero. He was considerate throughout the book and I could definitely see why her crush lasted 14 years. Mal's friends, especially Perky, were so funny and I wish I had some friends like them.

The book starts with Mal needing a job and misinterpreting a job description so she was put in an erm, compromising situation. Laugh out loud situation ensues and Will saves her. Then, the two had to acknowledge their attraction and overcome their pasts to reach their HEA. Her friends help, her parents, not so much (too funny!), throw in a 10 year cringeworthy high school reunion some wayward text messages and you have a really fun book! I'm looking forward to reading other books from this author.

Will and Mallory were sooooo funny in this book. I'm so glad Mallory's (and I think maybe Will's?) friends are getting their own books. This was such a unique story. I can't wait to listen to Perky now.

Again, Erin Mallon was perfect.

Fluffy Book One

Fluffy Book One.

Mallory is on the hunt for a job because her bank balance is in the negatives, so when she finds a listing for a Fluffer, she jumps at the chance. She hasn't seen that term used for a house stager in awhile, but maybe they're just old school. When she shows up, she begins to work on the living room. However, after several weird interactions with her boss and the rest of the crew, she realizes this might not be the job she originally imagined. When her old high school flame, Will, crashes into the room threatening to have them all arrested, she knows her day has gotten even worse. After Spatula posts a photo of Mallory, Will and the actor from the set in a visually compromising position, Mal knows her life is over.

If you're looking for a funny story with suggestive insinuations, childhood dreams and everlasting friends, this is the book for you!

Cute

The beginning mix up was hilarious. This audiobook seemed to carry lots of emotions. I believe so many of us relate to her thoughts and feelings about her reunion but I think it played to big of a part of the heroine's story. I want more scenes like the beginning and the 3rd date. The author did an amazing job at making the characters real. I enjoyed the story and the HEA. Can't wait to listen to Perky's story! The narrator did a fantastic job of bringing the characters to life.
