That is until a hard-bodied US marshal threatens to unearth secrets she's spent years protecting. But giving in to the sparks flying between them can only lead to one thing: disaster.
Tom Duncan lives by the letter of the law. But no one has tempted him - or confused him - more than free-spirited Isabelle, who arouses his suspicion and his desire. Huge thumbs up for sex- positive female characters
I have to give the author kudos for being one among very very few writers to portray women who are confident and unapologetic in regard to their sexuality. You won't find any of the cringe worthy "oh god I slept with him I'm such a slut" or "what will he think of me if sometimes I wanna just f**k rather than make love" in this book. If you're like me and you've returned a million books precisely because they portray women as passive and frail creatures who need to be talked into sex or "taught" by men that's it's ok to be sexual, then you'll really enjoy the sex-positive female characters in this book.
That said, the plots were good but I enjoy slightly more complicated plot lines so this isn't the most exciting book I've ever listened to. The only other problem is that the narration wasn't as good as it could be. It was ok in general, but my main problem with it was the female character's voice in the first book. It was pretty annoying and awful, which Is too bad. That said, I was able to get over it after a while, which isn't always the case in other books I've listened to.

Needs new narrator
I don't know if the story is good or not, the narrators voices are extremely irritating. I will just read this book.

I HATE the voice of the Main Character
Would you be willing to try another one of Celeste Ciulla’s performances?
What were you thinking? The voice of the Main Character is nasally & whinny. I am just into the first few chapters, and I cringe everything the main character starts to talk. I like her inner voice. I don't know if I'll be able to finish this book. YUCK!

This narrator...
Most often, a book is ruined by the narrator. I like this author and probably would have enjoyed this too but the narrator is terrible and I couldn’t even make it through. Why on earth is she giving the main character that weird nasal whine!? Why!? Does she WANT us to hate her? Is she secretly in love with the male lead and trying to get us to turn on the female lead so she can have him for herself!? There’s no logical reason for the main character to have such an obnoxious voice.

Men should love this writers books.
Really great people come with ideas borne from previous disasters in their past. This writer doesn’t drag these issues out for hours into annoying the reader. It is amazing and fun to read every book I can find. Great Job !

Narrorator AWFUL
Had to return audiobook after a couple chapters because the narrator was so awful! Will have to read book to find out if story is good. Narrator needs to find a new career.
