Publisher's Summary

He's a famous poet.... He just doesn't know it.

He has given up on love.

Fitzwilliam Darcy was burned once. Never again. Hiding his emotions, Darcy takes pride in his marble-like façade...until he meets a lady who threatens to expose his true character, Miss Elizabeth Bennet.

She loves a poet she has never met.

Elizabeth Bennet longs to meet the man whose poems touch her soul - the elusive Mr. Walter Wyndham. He is her ideal, her dream...and everything emotionless Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy could never be.

When an unlikely friend decides to play matchmaker, they'll either remain enemies...or fall in love.

Stuck in each other’s company, Darcy’s carefully constructed barriers come crashing down when he discovers the secret identity of Elizabeth’s beloved poet. It’s him!

Will Darcy measure up to the man she’s been dreaming of for years? Will Elizabeth stubbornly pursue an illusion, or will she fall for an imperfect (and very real) man?

Fitzwilliam Darcy, Poet is a sweet and clean romance variation of Jane Austen's timeless classic, Pride and Prejudice.

The poet and the Plagurer

The story showed Darcy ,and Wickham ,had a
mutual relationship ,Darcies poems are stolen
and published under another name .
The poet ,Elizabeth ,has great admiration ,The
thing I thought was poetic justice ,for wickham
asks all the ladies he corresponds with.
Well ,Wickham gets what he deserves,.A lady
,who on outside appearances, is not pretty, forces Wickham to marry her ,and act as they are,,

Love Jennifer Joy's P&P variations

I have enjoyed every Jennifer Joy book I've read. I think her P&P variations are fun and interesting. My favorites are still the Cousins series but I enjoyed this one too. I listened to the audio book and the story is only made sweeter by the choice of narrator. Stevie Zimmerman does a wonderful job.

I found the portrayal of Wickham to be most interesting. He was charming and teasing. He is still friends with Darcy since in this variation he never had the attempted elopement with Georgianna. So that is a huge difference from canon and most variations I've read. I kept waiting for him to turn evil but the truth is, in this variation he is mostly just selfish causing him to be dishonest. He is far worse in Pride and Prejudice and just about every variation of my reading. I found that to be a wonderful twist. However, it also provides far less angst in the story which may not please a reader who craves high angst. I'm good with this level though.

I think authors don't often allow us to see the tender side of Darcy before he is ready to reveal his feelings for Elizabeth. It often comes as much a surprise to the reader as it does to Elizabeth but in this variation we got to see much more of Darcy. Darcy, the poet. Who'd have thought?

Elizabeth's fascination with her dream poet was a little over the top perhaps. I think my interpretation would be that Elizabeth is too level headed to allow her love of a poet she has never met to override what is happening in her real life. That being said, when I read JAFF I try to suspend my own interpretations to enjoy what the author believes to be truth so I'll have to believe that by the time Elizabeth met Darcy she was already deeply in love with him since she knew his innermost feelings through the poetry. She just didn't know it yet. Once she was in a position to see past his prideful behavior it wasn't hard to feel for him what she already felt for the poet. And that must have been very confusing causing her inability to see clearly between her fantasy and the man standing before her.

So, once again, an enjoyable read from Jennifer Joy. Or in my case an enjoyable listen.

No sex, language or violence

Creative JAFF variation

What a fun and creative addition to the JAFF canon. ODC endured just enough pride, misunderstanding, and tension to keep the story true to JA's characterization. Wickham's character had an interesting twist (I almost started to believe he was reformed), and I didn't miss Lady Catherine at all. Well done.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I really enjoyed this book. George Wickham as Darcy's friend and trying to convince Elizabeth of his good traits surprised at first. Needless to say, it was an extraordinary set up.

Stevie Zimmerman was wonderful as always.
