Having listened to so many novels set in wartime, and endured some repetitive themes in some of them, I found this novel of the unusual love between Phen Kitsman and Cybs most enchanting! The villains were not the ‘tie up, kidnap and rape’ types and no one got toooooo pregnant; well, not inasmuch as it reduced their life prospects. I thoroughly recommend this heart-warming story and am keen for more.

I found the main characters in this book hard to like or believe in, especially the male characters.
The story also seemed to drag on for ages I nearly gave up on it.
